• You should brush your teeth twice daily
• Morning before breakfast
• Night after dinner
• Please note that while brushing you shall
use only a small amount of toothpaste i.e
pea size
Floss daily
• After brushing your teeth you should floss your teeth, which helps in removing soft
food that has been stuck between your teeth.
Tongue clean
• The tongue is a potential source of lot of
bacteria which are harbored there if it is
not cleaned post brushing
• Clean our tongue once every day
Use mouthwashes
• You can squish a cap of mouthwash right after you
have your lunch or in between snack times.
• Mouthwash helps to decrease the bacterial load in
the mouth and this ultimately decreasing the risk of
cavities.
Healthy fibrous and balanced diet
• Essential for getting all the essential nutrients needed
for your body
• Avoid eating sticky foods like sugar candies, chocolates
or cakes as they tend to stick on the teeth and greatly
increase the chances of having more cavities
Drink less sugary drinks
• Avoid having high sugar drinks such as soda,
soft drinks and fruit juices as they can harm the
tooth surfaces
• Decrease the intake of drinks like coffee and tea
as they cause staining of teeth
• Drink as much water as possible
Change toothbrush regularly
• The toothbrush should be changed once in every
three months or even earlier than that whenever the
bristles of your brush get frayed.
• It is a known fact that brush have a high tendency of
accumulating bacteria via the saliva and blood that
contacts while brushing.
Do not share your toothbrush
• The toothbrush should never be shared always
• There are higher chances that you can transmit
infection from one person to the other
• If you are tested COVID 19 positive during these
times, it is recommended :
• Change the toothbrush completely
• Change the toothpaste too

• You should avoid smoking as it decreases the
blood supply to the teeth and thus increasing
the chances of having cavities
How can I gain harmonized mental health and emotional well
being during this lockdown?
