exploding and save them from Mister Claws the cat.
A Guide for the Beginner
Meet The Characters
Meet Mister Claws, the game’s villain. At some point he has an epiphany that he loves peppers too, and
decides to start grabbing yours. The path that he takes is predictable. Try to work on rows that are farthest
away from him, and when he gets close, use vertical matches to drop your upgrade peppers below the row
he is attacking.
This is Sheldon and he quickly walks you through the game’s basics. He shows up again every
once in a while to explain new mechanics or power-ups.
Say hello to Pepper! He is an adorable puppy who prefers farming and eating peppers instead of digging up
the traditional bones. He goes on a cross-country journey to grow the finest peppers he can manage, though
his journey is occasionally impeded by an evil cat named Mister Claws. Pepper could really use your help
because Mister Claws nabs all grown and partially-grown peppers and this upsets him. Your goal isn’t really to
destroy peppers, it is to make them grow.
There are 4 pepper colors in the game
The object of this game is to match the peppers of
the same color. It differs from the Candy Crush
games, because even though you are still making a
match, in this game the peppers grow with each
match of 3 or more that you make.
Match peppers to make them grow and then explode! Set off a chain reaction to get a Pepper Panic and pass each level
even faster! Each time you form a match, all of the peppers in the match are sucked into a single pepper that gets larger.
Peppers start off small, but grow bigger as you match them. The bigger they get, the closer to exploding they’ll be. The result of
the match depends on the size of the peppers involved - use larger peppers for explosive results!
You can tell when the pepper is ready to explode by the number of dots on it. The dots count up to five, and then the pepper
catches on fire. Flaming peppers will explode on the next match.
Watch this video to see how it grows and explodes
When a pepper explodes, the seeds it shoots out grow other peppers
of the same color. If another pepper explodes as a result, you’ll have
started a chain reaction. A chain reaction of ten or more exploding
peppers creates a Pepper Panic!
What is a Pepper Panic?
The Boosters
The Net protects peppers from
the pesky Mr. Claws
The Flame Grower grows all
the peppers of the same color
that you match it with
The Hammer smashes any
object on the game board
The Firecracker can be used to
scare Mister Claws away for 3 moves
The Heatblast Booster creates a
powerful shockwave in both
directions when you match it
The Inferno Pepper grows all the
peppers that are nearby it when it
explodes
The Four-of-a-kind Special Match creates a burst of flame that shoots out from both ends of the match.
This can be counter intuitive for Candy Crush veterans since it is essentially opposite the way Striped
Candies work. The flame will damage obstacles, but also has the interesting effect of destroying level 1
peppers, while concentrating higher level ones.
Special Matches
Warning – Be careful when using the Four-of-a-kind Special
Match, as it can easily scramble other matches you had lined
up. It is also best to use when you have higher level peppers
lined up, since the level 1 peppers are destroyed and get no
benefit from the flame.
L and T shape Special Matches work a lot like Four-of-a-kind, except that they always concentrate on the peppers in the
path of their flame, regardless of level. This makes them a lot more powerful, and typically the better choice, unless you are
worried about the direction of the flame generated. As with Four-of-a-kind, the flame shoots off the ends of the completed
match.
Tip - the “T” shape has no advantage over the “L” shape in terms of fire jets. Sometimes you have the choice of one or the
other – choose the shape that will shoot the jets in the best columns and rows for your board.
Five-of-a-kind works a lot like an Exploding Pepper. It will increase the concentration of all peppers of its color by one level.
This is hardly as exciting as the Candy Crush Color Bomb, but it can turn out to be very important when forming Pepper
Panics. This match can temporarily knock out Mister Claws. Doesn’t it feel good to knock him out?
Mr. Claws, the naughty cat, loves big peppers! He is out to steal
Pepper’s peppers. He moves his mechanical hand-contraption from
row to row on the game board. Whenever you make a move, he
nabs all the grown and partially-grown peppers in a highlighted
row.
Why is Mr. Claws taking all my big peppers?
The Blockers
When you are trying to destroy Statues or rack up Exploded
Peppers, it is often best to concentrate as many peppers as
possible to Flaming status before you start a Pepper Panic.
Breaking the Ice
In order to release the blocked peppers
hidden under the ice, you will have to
break the ice layers. Please watch the
video.
The Crates
Peppers are hidden under the crates so
you will have to make matches adjacent
to them to break the chain and clear the
crate. Please watch the video.
Peppers Trapped in Cages
Look at this! The peppers are trapped in cages
so you need to make a match adjacent to them
in order to release the peppers.
Wrapped Peppers
This was taken from level 223. I am not that
high up yet in the game so I found a video to
help you understand how to clear them. As
you can see some of the peppers have up to #3
on them. First you have to make matches to
clear the numbers and then the wrapped
peppers will appear on the board.
