Evaluating Sources Authority What credentials are listed for the authors? Objectivity Is the information presented objective or biased?  Accuracy Is the information well supported by references?  Currency Is the information updated? Appropriateness Is the information what you need?
Search Strategy  List keywords & synonyms to describe your topic Eg. Human Embryos and Ethics DNA, Eugenics, Human embryology, Stem cells Medical ethics, Bioethics, Moral conduct/ moral values/ moral principles, Ethical conduct/ ethical practices, Human dignity Combine keywords with Boolean operators AND ,  OR ,  NOT Use truncation symbols Group words to be searched together
Boolean Operators AND Results must match both terms OR Results must match one or more of the terms Human Embryos AND Ethics Stem Cells Human Embryos
Truncation  * Round parentheses (  ) Use asterisk  *  to retrieve variant forms of terms embryo *  = embryos, embryology Use   ( )   for grouping words or phrases (  human embryos  ) and (  stem cells  ) (  human embryos  ) or (  stem cells  )
