INTRODUCTION


             Roughly in 1900s, the industrial revolution has shaped the world significantly different from the past. All three factors of society -economic, social
and political - were impacted greatly. The Industrial Revolution was a start of magnificent productivity, but also the downfalls of humanity.

             Economic factor is very difficult to analyze as different classes have different impact. When the industrial revolution was started, owners of the
factories were being wealthier when the laborers were treated like dirt. Owners would fire workers and buy another machine because machines don’t rest,
eat, or complain. It was only after the laborer union was created when the workers could be treated properly, especially payment. The machines also gave
governments incredible wealth.

             How the way people lived has changed the most. Farmers left the farms to work in a factory (urbanization), children were working in factories, and
cities were filled with dust and pollution from the factories. New technological inventions and progress have made humans’ lives easier. Moreover, a new
class emerged which caused class tension between the workers and owners of factories.

       The government couldn’t be unaffected by the industrial revolution. As the gap between owners of factories and workers became larger, the
Workers’ Union had to be created in order to fight for workers’ rights. Governments first outlawed the union, but since the union wouldn’t care and still
strike, they legalized the unions. They also made new laws protecting children and women from massive labor.
LABORERS
(ECONOMIC)

             Depicts on the number of
             workers dismissed after
             work. The factory owners
             could exploit the laborers
             since they only needed a
             few out of hundreds to
             control the machines, but
             later became impossible
             because the workers
             would strike as a whole.
TECHNOLOGICAL
PROGRESS (ECONOMIC)

           Shows locomotives
           powered by steam engines
           and factories behind. The
           industrial revolution was
           the starting point of all
           innovative inventions such
           as the world wide web,
           space technology, and etc.
URBANIZATION
(SOCIAL)
               In the picture, it
               shows an apartment
               where people lived.
               As people started to
               gather in places near
               factories, they
               started to form
               cities. The factories
               also produced tax
               revenues, and the
               government invested
               on urbanization.
WORKING
CONDITIONS (SOCIAL)

          A shirt factory after fire. Just
          like the picture, the working
          conditions were very poor.
          The average life span was
          about 17 in the cities. It had
          harsh conditions even for
          fully developed males, not
          only women and children.
CHILD LABOR
(POLITICAL)
          This picture shows Jo Bodeon, a
          back-roper in the mule room at a
          mill. Child labor played a
          considerable amount of role in
          industrial revolution. They were
          favored by the factory owners
          because their small hands
          allowed them to work with
          machines and they could be
          payed less than adults. Later, the
          government issued laws
          requiring specific conditions for
          children to work.
LAWS (POLITICAL)

             A laborer working at a mine.
             Mining was essential during
             industrial revolution
             because it supplied the
             factories with fuel. Because
             of its unhealthy working
             condition, the government
             created ‘Mines Act’ to
             protect children and women.
             Factory Acts is another
             example of a law created
             during industrial revolution.
CONCLUSION

Healthier diet, formation of cities, hope of improvement, increased average income- are all parts of
industrial revolution’s positive effect. Technological inventions have also emerged, enabling today’s world to
have computers, robots, spaceships, etc.


Although the industrial revolution have gave humanity many benefits, it has also gave us harmful, but
redeemable problems.


    One example would be global warming. The pollution from the inventions during industrial revolution
    has damaged the O-Zone, and is letting the UV light enter Earth, which is causing global warming.


    Another is Imperialism. Imperialism fed the Europeans, but made people in other nations, especially in
    Africa starve. Africa is now the poorest continent due to Europe’s exploitation with it.
