A phrasal verb is a verb combined with a preposition or adverb that has a meaning different from the original verb. Some common phrasal verbs using "look" are explained. "Look into" means to investigate or examine something closely. "Look down on" means to feel superior or have a low opinion of someone. "Look out" means to be alert or cautious. "Look up" means to search for information, such as in a dictionary. "Look up to" means to admire or respect someone. "Look the other way" means to intentionally not notice or ignore something.
