TO R D C A R L I N
PITCH
WORKING TITLE
 The title of my magazine is going to be
“Outlaw” I want the font to be street-stylish.
These are the different fonts
I want to use in my
magazine. The second font I
am going to use as the
headlines in the magazine.
FREQUENCY OF PUBLISHING
 My magazine is going to be published
once a month, this is based on my
market research and questionnaire.
 Mostly people would like to the
magazine to be published once a month
because they may not afford it when it
is published more frequently.
COVER PRICE
 The cover price would be £3.00 because the
price would be reasonable for my target
group. The price is compared to the
frequency of the publishing, so I would gain
profit for selling it just once a month.
 I would also offer a subscription to the
readers with a better deal, where the readers
can get a year/half year subscription for a
lower price.
GENRE
 The genre for my music magazine is going to be
hip-hop/rap. Based on my questionnaire and
interview people seem to like either hip-hop or
rock. My favourite genre is hip-hop/rap so I
wanted to make a music magazine about this
genre.
 In the UK you find a lot of rock magazines like Q,
NME etc. If I am going to sell my magazine I
have a better chance to sell my magazine in the
hip-hop genre than in the rock genre.
READER PROFILE
 John is 17 years old and lives in York. He loves music and
is especially into Hip-Hop and Rap. He works part-time
at a local pub near his house. With his low income he
can’t afford buying music magazines, but reads music
news online and finds new music through his friends. He
finds music articles and interviews very interesting and
he loves to read about the artist’s personal life too.
 John’s favourite artist is Kanye West and especially likes
Kanye West’s album “Watch the Throne”. He is very
interested in live music and would love to see Kanye West
live at a concert.
STYLE
 The style of my magazine is going to be a
contrast between street and proper styles.
 I want it to be rough and soft to show the
different sides of the artists in the genre Hip-
Hop/Rap.
 The contrast in the magazine should be
dirty/dark to light, soft and clean.
 The colours will be Black, grey, white, red. The
pictures in the magazine are maybe going to be
black and white.
DUMMIE OF FRONT PAGE
 This is my example
of my front page. It
will contain the main
artist of my
magazine. It will be
split in half so you
can see two different
sides of the artist.
The soft and bad
side. The title is the
title of the magazine.
DUMMIE OF CONTENT PAGE
 This is my example
of my contents page.
It will contain the
contents of the
magazine and which
pages the contents
are on. The page to
the right will
contain a picture of
one of the artist on
one of the articles.
DUMMIE OF DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD
 This is my example
of my double page
spread. It will
contain an article
about my artist and
I will have a heading
and a picture of the
artist and take a
quote from the text
to interest my
audience.
