  INTRODUCTION As a group,we have all agreed that we will creating a pop rock music video. Pop rock conventions differ from pop and rock separately, in this presentation we will be addressing all three music genres and comparing pop rock to pop and rock.
• 3.
  POP CONVENTIONS • Fashionable,stylish and mainstream outfits (usually revealing especially women pop artists). Clothing like mini skirts, dresses, ripped jeans, high waist shorts, bralet tops, colourful shirts, vintage clothing, straight leg jeans and bodysuits and some male artists topless. They also have a lot of fashion accessories such as bulky necklaces, big earrings, and hats. • They usually like partying, drinking, dancing and having fun and this is seen in their music videos which relate to their target audience; that are young adults. • Colourful and bright clothing as they are associated with fun and being happy. • They usually have animations and creating an exciting loud atmosphere in their music videos. • A lot of piercings and tattoos • A lot of make up to commutate the artist feeling, views, and express a message as it plays a major role in pop music videos. • Either performance or narrative.

  ROCK • Usually performancebased, where it is usually set in a dark set in a room with low key lightings. • Artists usually wear black clothing such as black leather biker jackets, skinny jeans, and black leather gloves. • Too much make up especially eyeliner around their eyes to express their emotions which are usually sad and hurt. • Their hairstyles are often spiky, messy and usually black in colour • Their facial expressions usually show that they are passionate about their music and show high emotions. • Fast pace editing • Close up shots and wide shots to show the band performing. • Props are usually drums and guitars as they are associated with rock bands.

  POP ROCK CONVENTIONS •They don’t to wear fashionable clothing, instead they wear denim jeans and jackets, vintage or retro clothing. • Dark make up • They usually set their location where they have access to natural lightings such as near a window or outside. The settings are quite budget • It can be performance, narrative or both. • Guitars and drum instruments. • Example of Pop rock artists: Cold Play, Artic Monkeys, Amy Winehouse, Lady Gaga, and Imagine Dragons
