MOTIVATION
Degree Measure of an
Inscribed Angle and its
Intercepted Arc
OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the students are expected
to:
1. Identify the inscribed angles and its
intercepted arc of the given figure.
2. Give the measure of the inscribed angle
and its intercepted arc.
• Inscribed Angle - it is angle whose
vertex is on the circle and its sides are
chords
• Intercepted Arc - an arc formed when two
lines go through the circumference of the
circle and share a common point, or
vertex
In Figure 1, / LAP is an
inscribed angle and its
intercepted arc is LP.The
center of the circle is in the
interior of the angle.

In Figure 2, / TOP is an
inscribed angle and its
intercepted arc is TP. One side
of the angle is the diameter of
the circle.
O

In Figure 3,/CGM is an
inscribed angle and its
intercepted arc is CM. The
center of the circle is in the
exterior of the angle.
Group Activity: Groups will be given
problems for them to solve & discuss it
after 5 minutes

Use the figure to identify the measure of
the following:
DR is a diameter of ● O. If m MR = 70,
find:
1. m / RDM =
2. m / DRM =
3. m / DMR =
4. m DM =
5. m RD =
APPLICATION:
Generalization:
 Ask questions about the topic
 Incribed angle is an angle whose vertex is on the circle and its
sides are chords
 The measure of the inscribed angle is half the measure of its
intercepted arc.
Evaluation:
Part I. Multiple Choice. Direction: Read the questions carefully.
Choose the letter of the correct answer for numbers 1 & 2 and for 3 – 5
give the correct answer.
_____1. An angle formed by two chords and its vertex is on the circle.
A. Central Angle C. Inscribed Angle
B. Right Angle D. Complementary Angle
_____2. An arc formed when two lines go through the
circumference of the circle and share a common point, or
vertex.
A. Minor Arc C. Major Arc
B. Intercepted Arc D. Semi Circle
GOA is inscribed in ● L. If
m / OGA = 75,
and m AG = 160, find the
