  BUT UNFORTUNATELY, Still thereare so many kids,chidren who have not seen the gates of school.Who don’t have a single book to read and are forced to do willingly or unwillingly child labour.And one of the reason of this is lack of money. India, with nearly one sixth of the world’s population, is a booming economy poised to take over as one of the world’s superpowers,Yet this glittering fact goes hand in hand with the harsh truth of abject poverty facing nearly half of the nation’s people. With 42% of the country’s population living below the international poverty line, the nation is struggling to keep up with many of the rapidly growing countries in the world. “POVERTY IS THE PRIMARY CAUSE FOR LACK OF EDUCATION”

  POVERTY STATS 21.9% iearound 267.9 million of Indian population is below poverty line according to latest planning commissions 2011-2012 138 million people who have moved out of the poverty line from 20042005 to 2011-2012. But still so many indians are below the poverty line,which means their Daily income is less than ₹ 28.65 in cities and ₹22.4 in villages I International poverty line stands at $ 1.25 per day and in 2010, 32.7% of the total population in India was below this line. . Poor children are unable to attend school and, if they do attend, they tend to leave the school after a year or so. & thus POVERTY is affecting EDUCATION

  SAD FACTS: •India hasthe largest public food distribution system for the poor in the world. Yet 21% of adults and half of India’s children under five are malnourished. •Because of prevalent corruption, quantity of food grains recommended to be subsidized never reaches the needy and poor completely •India, if not completely but is almost synonymous with the word corruption. • 60% of the poor still reside in the states of Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

  CAUSES High population growth rate Corruption • Corruptionis regarded as one of the biggest reasons of poverty in India. • Corruption in the Public Distribution System (PDS) is the worst of its kind. • For an example - Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA), a $9 billion program planned to offer 100 days of employment annually for the rural poor. But MNREGA failed because of corruption and mismanagement. • . Instead poor are even denied of their basic right and needs Deprived of their rights
