In English grammar, some words are used to link nouns, pronouns, or phrases with other words in a sentence. These words are called prepositions. They help us understand the relationship of a noun or pronoun with the rest of the sentence. Without prepositions, sentences would often be confusing and incomplete.
For example:
She is sitting on the chair.
The book is under the table.
He arrived at the station on time.
In each sentence, the preposition connects the noun to the rest of the sentence, showing place, time, direction, cause, purpose, or manner.
This SlideShare presentation will guide you through the meaning, importance, types, rules, examples, and common errors of prepositions in a simple and clear way.
