Tell me in no more than20 words, what is your
FMP idea?
My FMP idea is goingto be a almanac/annualthat
will have aesthetic pieces of work with
informationto partner them.
Why have youdecided to makeit? I havedecided tomake this annualas I think it
showcasesmy skill the mostandI think I will enjoy
makingit compared toother media. Also, I think
portrayingart media like this will be the easiest as
all my creative ideas can all be puttogether and
all I need todo to follow a theme is to group
similar edits together
What aboutyourproject makesit importantto
you?
This project is importanttome as I have been
preparing for 2 yearsfor it. I havebeen creating
photoshopfor2 years trying toimprove in
preparationfor this project. Itsbeen a tough
journey but I believe I am in a positionwhere I can
create somevery impressivework. Overlockdown
I also startedto really commit to tryingto get
better at photoshop. Thiswasin preparationfor
this project andI think puttingthis much effort in
this sortof skill outsideof college makes this
project special for me.
Outline someof the initial influences onyour
idea/work and somepotential research targets
(remember, research isn’t justa paperbased
activity)
My main influence is the F1 Instagramgraphic
design scene, they have somebrilliant work and
give me lots of inspirationwhen making my edits.
The main accountI will takeinfluence from is
TLDesign,. TLDesign is one the mostpopular
FormulaOne edit account onInstagram, his
strikingand uniqueedits makeshim standout
from the other accounts. His use of hue and
saturationlayers tocreate unique lightingbrings
his work tolife andthis is one of the things I will
be trying toreplicate in my work tomake it look
up tohis standards
What effect do youwant to haveon your
audience when they see yourproject?
I want to my project to make my audience feel
happy when lookingat my work. I think aesthetic
work shouldbe satisfyingto look at and I hope I
have thisinfluence on my audience
Describe the tone/mood/styleofyourproject
[which productiontechniques/characteristicsare
youemploying?]
My project is goingto use lots of different
techniques, its going tohave a bright moodwith
some editshavinga retro feel to them. The focus
is to portray FormulaOne as a bright andhappy
place with beautiful designs. A technique I will use
a lot throughoutmy project will be rotoscoping. I
think this techniqueis very aesthetically pleasing
anddone right can help set a goodmoodfor the
annual. Anotherthing I will try anduse is the hue
andsaturationtechnique thatmy inspiration
TLDesign uses tomake his work look the best it
can.
Why have youdecided to makeyour project in
this style?
I havedecided tomake it in thisstyle as I want my
work to be lookedat in a way where youcan smile
andenjoy the work like you are watching a movie.
I also think brightcolours will attract outside
audiences thatdon’tknowmuch aboutFormula
One. I also think using rotoscoping throughout
this media is very clever as they set a really good
mood/tonefor the book as theserotoscopes are
aesthetically pleasing to look at buthave simple
features which makesthemvery interesting.
