  Aim: • To promotedebating and draw students´ attention to present day social issues • To encourage young people to lead a dialogue, listen to each other and be tolerant while communicating • To improve public speaking, critical thinking, communication and presentation skills

  Meetings: 1. "Debates inthe European Parliament of the future“ 2. "Debates on women’s rights and gender equality“ 3. " Debates on Education – a right and a duty“ 4. " Debates on refugees"
• 4.
  A hand bookon “how to create a debating club and debate at school” will be made to help those who want to debate. During meetings we will discuss with local MEPs about their work in local parliaments. We will also cooperate with NGOs, local students’ parliaments, formal and informal institutions and schools in the region to obtain the best results. Teachers will also be trained to be mentors, trainers and mediators for conflict solving. During activities, students will use subjects of ICT, English Language, History, Philosophy, Business Education, Geography, Ecology and Psychology. One of the activities will be writing essays on “Citizen of United Europe and a future MEP”.

  A voluntary projecthas also been set up called “Good Deeds of Young Debaters”, which involves supporting disadvantaged families, collecting food packages and necessities, helping out in dog shelters, and visiting the homes of the elderly.
• 6.
  OBJECTIVES Training confidence instudents because debates are an intellectual conversation where both parties present their theses when solving a problem and also defend them. Students will become more inquisitive and active young people with their own opinion. They will have an overview of the goals they want to achieve and an idea how this could be done. - Understanding and tolerance towards the opinion of others. - Developing a skill for successful. - Teaching an active citizenship. - Having a good command of English language. - Students and teachers acquiring knowledge about the diversity of European cultures, languages and values. Increasing the knowledge for European counties and encouraging intercultural dialogue and intercultural familiarizing for forming a positive attitude towards United Europe and European Union values. - Comprehending the relation “person-society”. - And at last, to favor the use of new technologies like Facebook or E-Twinning, with which teenagers are quite familiar with, and also e-mail, video-conference, the Moodle platform, etc.
