We live in the United Kingdom. There are 4
countries: England, Scotland, Wales and
Northern Ireland. We live in England.
London is the capital of the United Kingdom.
This is the flag of the United Kingdom. It is
called the Union Jack.

Here is our Royal Family. Do you know who
they are?
In the United Kingdom we use the money
called pound sterling. There are 5, 10, 20
and 50 pound notes.
Here are the coins.
In the United Kingdom we have got some
traditional food. Here is a traditional English
breakfast.
Traditional Sunday roast. It can be pork,
lamb, beef or chicken.
Traditional dish- fish and chips
London bus. It is called a double decker.
London taxi. It is called a black cab.

Our nursery classroom is called Busy Bee.
There are currently 24 children in the class:
12 boys and 12 girls. The children come
from different cultural backgrounds.
Some children have taken photos of our
classroom and their favourite activities. Our
computer.
Role play- At the hairdresser’s. ‘Here we
make dollies beautiful and do their hair.’
Construction table. ‘We can make a train,
van, helicopter.’
Play dough. ‘It is fun to cut with play dough
and make it into a shape.’
Our book corner. ‘We read books, sit and
play with toys.’
Writing table. ‘We can draw, write our name
and letters.’
Home corner. ‘We play with pretend food,
set a table for dinner.’
Water tray. ‘We play with water. We put the
aprons on.’
