  Dating City of Columbia AProclamation of Constitution Week WHEREAS, Columbia and the nation have resolved to proclaim Thursday November 12 through 20, 2016 to be Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week; and WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper to officially recognize this issue to encourage activism and compassion in our community; and WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper to officially recognize and honor those individuals and families who are struggling in order to build a stronger community; and WHEREAS, more than 750 groupsin citiesacross the United Statescome togetherannually to acknowledge these pressing issues and help work towards a solution. NOW, THEREFORE, I, Stephen K. Benjamin, Mayor of the City of Columbia, South Carolina, along with my fellow members of Columbia City Council, do hereby proclaim November 12 through 20, 2016 to be Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week in the City of Columbia and urge my fellowcitizens to recognize and participate in its observance. ___________________________ Stephen K.
