Props

• 2.
   I don’thave a large number of props within my film but the ones I have chosen I have used to signify the stereotypes of teenage parties that my audience research indicated.  I have used stereotypical props as they act as a short hand way of portraying stereotypes and concepts quickly and easily to the audience who know these signifiers from other media texts.
• 3.
   One ofthe props I will use is that of empty alcohol cans/bottles.  This will connote the wild drunken party stereotype I want to.
• 4.
   I’m alsogoing to have a bonfire in the film for two purposes. The first is to provide light so that it’s bright enough to film in and the second is to again connote the teen party by the river.  It also has connotations of hell and sin which connotes the stereotype of a teen party where people believe everything goes. It also connotes security and warmth
• 5.
   For similarreasons to the campfire I will also need the actors to carry and have torches and lanterns as this will brighten the shots and make it possible to film at night.  It also helps to add to the sense of realism.
• 6.
   I willalso need a phone for the end of the film which again adds to the sense of realism.  It is also integral to one of the jokes in the film.
• 7.
   I alsoneed a Rizla packet which I am using to imply drug use as I cannot show something that appears to be cannabis but I can imply it through use of props and speech.  It also connotes the stereotype of smoking and drugs at teen parties and is again essential to the plot.
• 8.
   I willalso need a kebab for Sean’s character to have which connotes a stereotype of drunk/high people who get the munchies and eat fast food.  The ketchup will act as chilli sauce that was on the kebab and which Sam mistakes as blood. This therefore fits the conventions of horror films but is then subverted to become a comedy signifier.
