  Q6. WHAT HAVEYOU LEARNT ABOUT TECHNOLOGIES FROM THE PROCESS OF CONSTRUCTING THIS PRODUCT?

  Preliminary task • Whencreating my preliminary , I used the software adobe Photoshop. Before my preliminary task I had used the software but only briefly. When using Photoshop this time I learnt that the two most important tools were the text tool and the shape tool. Within the shape tool I used the ellipse tool to create the circle on my front cover. Whilst within the text tool I used the horizontal type tool for every text in my magazine. I have used the colour pallet within Photoshop to make my magazine look more exciting and a bit more professional. These tools will allow me to create my main task magazine in a lot more detail than if I was using Photoshop for the first time.

  Research • For myresearch I used Google to find images of magazine front covers, contents pages and double page spreads. I also researched into existing magazine deconstructions so I knew what to pick out of the magazine. Once I found appropriate images I put them into a PowerPoint, using PowerPoint on a Mac was a first for me so I was also learning whilst I was creating my research. To make my PowerPoint look creative I used the tools within the application to change the colour of the background and add in arrows so I could point out what parts of the magazine I was trying to describe. • At the side are an example of a front cover and contents page I have deconstructed on PowerPoint.

  Planning • For theplanning of my magazine I used my phone to research successful images for magazines. I also used Facebook to contact the model of my magazine and discuss what day we were going to take the photos and ideas of locations to take them. I also used Google to look at the style of people who like the genre I had chose to base my magazine on so I could base the clothing of my model on that.

  Post production • Whilstcreating both magazines I used the software Photoshop. I learnt how to use a few more tools whilst I creating my magazine. One of the best one I ha learnt how to use is he spot healing tool. This tool allows me to cover up/ blend in any unnecessary elements of my photos. An example: I got rid of the small pimples my model had on her face by using this tool. This gives my images more of a professional look. • I also used a website called ‘DaFont.com’. This website allowed me to use fonts on my magazine that are not available on Photoshop.i learnt some new skills as I had to download the fonts then upload them onto the Photoshop software • Learning these new skills allowed me to make my magazine to a more professional standard.
• 6.
  evaluation • For myevaluation I used a range of online sites that allows me to put my information on my blog in unique ways. • For instance Prezi is a website that allows me to display all of my information in a unique presentational way. At first the software wasn’t easy to use, but now I have got the hang of It I will use it again. • I used other well known technologies/ software's such as Microsoft word, Microsoft PowerPoint and google. I then used a website such as slidshare to upload them to my blog, I am now much more confident with these software's.
