Question 3
What have you learned from
your audience feedback?
Research
Once we had developed our first ideas, we had to do some research
into target audience. We decided to look at the target audience for
Flight to see what that came up with as the storyline was similar to
our movie Force. We used a site called Pearl and Dean in order to
do this. We discovered that from the research that majority or our
target audience were males and that the age was between 15 and
24.
Questionnaires
We created two different questionnaires that we felt would help us to
understand our target audience a bit better.
The first questionnaire that we created included questions about our
films storyline and these questions included:
- Do you like crime-action films?
- Do you like the storyline of our film
- Do you think this is unique and different from others?
- Would you pay to watch it at the cinema?
The information for this was recorded by doing a recorded interview on
a flip camera. This allowed us to see the students facial expressions
and body language when answering the questions to help us
understand if our target audience liked our idea. The feedback we
gained was very positive and the students asked seemed to really
like the idea of our film. This meant we had achiever the goal of
creating a movie for our target audience of 15-25
The second questionnaire was created to help us gain a better
knowledge/insight into what genres public enjoy. From this research
we discovered that genres such as horror and sci fi seemed to be
the most unpopular ones. We then went on to discover that crime
and action seemed to be the most popular genres. Luckily, this
meant that we had chosen the right genre for our movie as it was
crime-action, this meant we had fit to the criteria of our target
audience.
YouTube feedback
We received feedback to our teaser
trailer when we had uploaded it onto
YouTube. The screenshot shows the
comments. All of the feedback we
received was positive and they
mentioned the good use of music that
we decided to use as the beat fits
well with the shots that we had
placed them with.
From this feedback, it is clear that the music
we had decided to use as a group was a
strong point in our teaser trailer.
