My documentary challenges conventions of real media in the following ways:
1. It uses re-enactments with actors that do not speak, including ambient sounds instead of dialogue to give emotion. This challenges conventions used in documentaries like America's Most Wanted.
2. The advertisement uses an unconventional color scheme for clarity and different fonts for newspaper titles to make them recognizable. This challenges conventions of real documentary advertisements.
3. The double page newspaper spread challenges conventions by placing the masthead over the photograph and including a question and answer interview format usually seen in magazines, not newspapers.
