- 3. What is ratio?Ratio is a way of comparing amounts of something. It shows how much bigger one thing is than another. 1 nursery nurse for every 3 children We would write this as 1:3
- 4. 1 nursery nursefor every 3 children Ratio = 1:3 If another 3 children joined the nursery, we would need another 1 nursery nurse We would now have 2 nursery nurses and 6 children. We could write this as 2:6 By cancelling the numbers down (dividing both numbers by 2) we end up with the original ratio of 1:3
