Sophie Harrison
Interview
1)Hi Judith, thank you for coming in today with us, how does it feel that your debut
album went straight in at number one?
No problem thank you for having me, it was the most surreal feeling ever like I didn't
believe it at first but I’m so grateful for everyone for buying it.
2) Can we expect another amazing single any time soon?
I have two tracks in mind that I could potentially release but all I’m saying is that it's
going to be in the next two months.
3) Your headline tour ‘Breaking Rules' is coming up, what can we expect?
i want this tour to show exactly what im like so people know the real me and I want the
fans to feel like I have given the best show I can give, so I want it to be like a party with
the fans so there will be lots of singing dancing and hopefully everyone will be having a
good time, you never know I might have to get the fans on stage.
4) Now you've made it over here but the next big thing is cracking America ,have you
thought about this?
I have thought about it actually and ive had meeting with the management and label on
how to try and make it out there, I think the first thing would be to release the single and
album and maybe try and get a few gigs.
5) You've shot on to the music scene quite young (19 years old) have you found it
difficult?
at times yes I’ve found it quite difficult as being away from family and friends and being
thrown in to the public eye is hard but it's been a dream of mine since I was a young girl
so I’m so so grateful for everything that has happened so far.
6) As a child growing up you've spoke about the bullying that you had face, has this had
an effect on the songs that you write?
I think it did a little bit as it was a huge part of my life that affected me greatly and i want
to help people if they have had to go through any sort of bullying to feel like they can
get help and tell people, but I also like to write songs about good experiences that ive
had to but I think I just about found the right balance on the album,
7)Do you think it makes an artist’s writing better when it's based on experience they
have had?
Sophie Harrison
i think it does make it a little better as this way the song is more personal to them and
sometimes it might be better to write down about experiences than speak out about it
but don't get me wrong any song can still be great whatever it's about.
8) How does it feel that people look up to you and call you an inspiration?
honestly it's one of the nicest things ever, like I can't quite believe that a typical 19 year
old Manchester girl could inspire anyone and to know that so many people think that
makes so happy and feel honoured'
9) I think what people want to knows what inspired you as a child though
My mother inspired me, she was the best parent, she never gave up on me and always
pushed me to do my best in anything and always pushed me to be a singer and I can't
thank her enough.
10) Which artist or band are you loving at the moment?
right now I’d say I’m loving little mix, well to be honest I’ve always loved them but black
magic nearly a year later is still my favourite song and their latest album was genius, and
they are such strong women and I just think all round they are amazing. I’ve also got to
say I’m loving how Justin Biebers smashing the charts right now too.
