‘ AMALAN – DEVOTIONAL PRACTICES (#2) REFLECTIONS : CONDUCTED BY USTAZ ZHULKEFLEE HJ ISMAIL LESSONS ON VARIOUS DEVOTIONAL PRACTICES OF “ Qutb-al-Irshaad Imam ‘Abdullah ‘Alawi al-Haddad ” Note: Although it is preferred to recite the Qur’an & Awrad direct from the Arabic script, for the sake of new Muslims still learning and for their easy memorization, I have provided the romanised-transliteration. Yet, they are advised to check their recitations with those who can recite & pronounce them correctly.

The following has been taken from the Kitab compiled by ‘Umar ibn ‘Abdur Rahman Al-Bar , regarding the practice and daily devotion of his teacher Qutb-ul Irshad Imam Habib ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Alawi Al-Haddad (r.a) in accordance with the Sunnah of our Prophet Muhammad s.a.a.w. أَلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِيْ أَحْيَا نَا بَعْدَ مَاأَمَاتَنَا وَإِلَيْهِ النُّشُوْر Al-Ham du-lil-laa-hil ladzii aH-yaa-naa ba’-da maa - amaa-ta-naa wa-ilai-hin- nu- shuu-r All praises belongs to Allah, Who has revived us to life from our death, and unto Him is our Return. أَلْحَمْد لِلَّه الَّذِي رَدَّعَلَيَّ رُوْحِيْ وَعَافَانِيْ فِي جَسَدِيْ Al-Ham-du-lil-laa-hil ladzii rad-da – ‘alay-ya roo-Hii Wa- ’aa –faa -nii fee ja-sa- dee All praises belongs to Allah, Who return back to me my Soul. أشْهَدُأَنَّ اللَّهَ يُحْيِيْ الْمَوْتِي وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَديْرٌ Ash- hadu – an-nalLaa -ha yuH-yee-l-mau -tee wa- huwa – ‘alaa- kul-li- shay-’in- qo-deer I bear witness verily it is Allah Who raise me from my death, and He has power over all things. لآ إِلَهَ إِلاّ اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لآ شَرِيْكَ لَهُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْ ءٍ قَدِيْرٌ Laa-ilaa-ha il-lalLaahu waH-da-huu laa sha-ree -ka-lah , lahul-mulku – wa-lahul –Hamdu , yuH-yee wa yu-mee-tu wa-huwa –’alaa- kul-li shay-‘een- qo-deer There is no god but Allah, One without partners, to Him is the Kingdom, and to Him the Praises, He restores life and He takes it away, and He has power over all things . سُـبْحانَ اللهِ، والحمْـدُ لله ، ولا إلهَ إلاّ اللهُ واللهُ أكبَر، وَلا حَولَ وَلا قوّة إلاّ باللّهِ العليّ العظيم Sub-Haa- nalLaah, wal-Ham-du-lil-laah, wa laa-ilaa-ha il-lalLaahu wa-Allaahu akbar, wa-laa haw-la wa-laa quw- wa-ta- il- laa bil –laa-hil ‘a-lee-yil-’azeem Glory be to Allah! And all Praises belongs to Allah! And there is no god but Allah! And Allah is the Greatest! And there is no power nor strength except in Allah, the Highest, the Most Esteem . Men who celebrate the praises of Allah standing, sitting, and lying down on their sides, and contemplate the (wonders of) creation in the heavens and the earth, (with the thought): "Our Lord! not for naught hast Thou created (all) this! "Our Lord! any whom thou dost admit to the Fire Truly thou coverest with shame, and never will wrong-doers find any helpers!. ... those who have left their homes, and were driven out therefrom, and suffered harm in My cause, and fought and were slain,― verily I will blot out from them their iniquities, and admit them into Gardens with rivers flowing beneath;― a reward from the presence of Allah and from His presence is the best of rewards." “ Let not the strutting about of the Unbelievers through the land deceive thee: Little is it for enjoyment; their ultimate abode is Hell: what an evil bed (to lie on)!” (Qur’an: Aali’Imran: 3: 196-197) AllRightsReserved©ZhulkefleeHjIsmail2009

On the other hand, for those who fear their Lord, are Gardens with rivers flowing beneath: therein are they to dwell (for ever) a gift,― from the presence of Allah; and that which is in the presence of Allah is the best (bliss) for the righteous. And there are, certainly, among the people of the Book, those who believe in Allah, in the revelation to you, and in the revelation to them, bowing in humility to Allah: they will not sell the signs of Allah for a miserable gain!
