Projects Related Courses Hierarchical FUSE file system with server replication and fault tolerance (Linux + Python + XMLRPC + MongoDB + Memcache) Sep. 2015-Dec. 2015  Extended a flat in-memory FS to a hierarchical FS and implement a client/server model by using XMLRPC protocol for distributed computing to communicate with a simpleht server.  Enhanced functionality by providing persistent storage with MongoDB, and improved time performance of adding a cache layer with LRU management policy.  Developed a multi-server structure to support server crash and restart. Implemented fault tolerant and repair mechanism with a quorum approach.  Developed a test mechanism by writing a shell script. A P2P file transmission network resembling some features of Bit-torrent based on TCP protocol(Java + Eclipse) Nov. 2015-Dec. 2015  Designed one file owner as a server, sending chunks which divided from a large file to multiple peers simultaneously.  Created uploading and downloading threads between p2p network and designated respective listening port.  One peer gets all chunks from its two neighbors and combines them into a complete file.
