Romans 12 1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renew-ing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, Will of God.
3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. It is impossible to be both proud and humble.
All of our natural abilities , as well as our spiritual gifts -- come from God . We should be thankful for them, but not filled with pride about them. But, we should also be aware that each and every one of us is a child of God , Gifted by God to serve Him. One is not lower nor higher than another.
Not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think If you are saved, you are a son or daughter of The Most High God . That's as good as it gets! False humility is almost as bad as false pride . Walk as a child of God , with your head held high , Because of who you are in Jesus Christ .
Don't identify yourself with your failures. Identify yourself with the Righteousness of Christ . Galatians 3 26-27 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ .
Romans 3 22-24 Even the Righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus : Past sinners who are now justified by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
Perhaps you have been overcome by drugs or alcohol; do you identify yourself with that? God looks at you or me and sees the Righteousness of His Son .
1 Corinthians 1 30 But of Him are ye in Christ Jesus, Who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: By faith, I am in Jesus, and He is made unto me Wisdom. He is made unto me Righteousness . He is my Sanctification . He is my Redemption .
Perhaps you have fallen into adultery ; Do you identify yourself as an adulterer? If you are a son or daughter of God, you need to identify yourself with Jesus Christ. We tend to behave as who we see ourselves to be.
If I see myself as weak, I will behave as morally weak. But I can be strong in the Power of His Might. Ephesians 6:10 I must see myself as a son of God. I will begin to behave as a son of God.
Romans 12 1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, Will of God. 3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly , according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
