Proper solid waste management
techniques should be implemented to
avoid the transmission of infectious
diseases and prevent the contamination
of various environmental resources.
Importance
Additionally, many types of garbage may be
damaging to the soil, ground water and
surrounding habitat.
To address this problem, modern waste
management professionals place garbage in
lined holes and use bacteria to help facilitate
rapid decomposition of the garbage.
Environmental Impact
• Waste Reduction: Stop Throwing Things
Out
• Waste Reduction: Use Less Packaging
• Recycling: Turning Waste Material into
Raw Material
