Use of M.I. This activity will be part of my introduction to our unit on South America. I have a Promethean Board, so the Keynote can become interactive with every slide. Below, each slide will be described, along with the intelligence it focuses on. Slide Two: I focused on musical to pull students in for the introduction of the activity. I used music they haven’t heard before, so it should interest them. Slide Three: The focus is on visual/spatial with the use of the map. The map is interactive so the student @ the board will be also using their bodily/kinesthetic intelligence. Slide Four: This slide involves a individual writing activity that will draw in students’ whose strengths are in verbal/linguistic & intrapersonal. The articles will later be shared with the class. Slide Five: This capoeira video focuses mainly on bodily/kinesthetic, but also on musical. Students can see the “sport” in action if they click on the photo. Slide Six: The final activity has students comparing & contrasting life in rural & urban areas of South America with a partner. In this slide, I focused on visual/spatial with the diagram, interpersonal with the group work, and verbal/linguistic with the writing assignment. A class discussion of the results should follow. I added music to the slide to be played while students are writing which touches the musical intelligence.
