Proverbs 17:17

PR 17:17 A friend loves at all times,
and a brother is born for adversity.

Being a spiritual friend is
being the physician of a
wounded soul. And what does
a physician do when someone
comes with a bleeding
wound?

Three things: He or she
cleanses the wound, aligns the
sundered parts, and gives it
rest. That's all. The physician
does not heal. He or she
provides an environment for
the dominant natural process
of healing to take its course.
The physician really is
midwife rather than healer

Proverbs 18:24

PR 18:24 A man of many companions may come to ruin,
but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

But what happiness, what
security, what joy to have
someone to whom you dare to
speak on terms of equality
as to another self;
one to whom you need have
no fear to confess your
failings;
one to whom you can
unblushingly make known

made in the spiritual life;
one to whom you can entrust

What, therefore, is more
pleasant than so to unite to

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
ECC 4:9 Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their work:

ECC 4:10 If one falls down,
his friend can help him up.
But pity the man who falls
and has no one to help him up!

ECC 4:11 Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm.
But how can one keep warm alone?

ECC 4:12 Though one may be overpowered,
two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
