Meet the Miami Bus Conductor and Fearless Leader Steve Repetti 2010 StartupBus San Francisco Maiden Voyage

The entrepreneurs will present a business plan and concept to a prestigious panel of venture capitalists and compete for funding. The event is set to take place at South by Southwest on Monday, March 14, 2011. In 2010, Elias Bizannes of San Francisco organized the first StartupBus along with 24 entrepreneurs. Six startup business models emerged within the 48 hour trip and were presented in front of a panel of venture capitalists at SxSW. This year, six buses are leaving from “tech hubs” around the country – San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, Cleveland, Chicago and Miami. A total of 150 entrepreneurs, on 25+ teams are expected to compete for funding valued over $25,000. The StartupBus Miami Buspreneurs hail from the southeastern region of the US: Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, and Texas. Participants have diverse technical, business and marketing credentials and were selected from hundreds of applicants. A film crew is set to accompany the team with plans to create a documentary during the trip. The experience will allow participants to gain valuable startup business insight, collaboration and team building skills along with meeting like minded individuals to create relationships for future partnerships. StartupBus Miami is seeking sponsors who are interested in supporting the startup community through partnership and by promoting technology and new business in Florida, Georgia, and Louisiana. "When it is time to do something huge, call in the VC’s.  Nothing else will come close to making the impossible happen like a well-funded VC." Angel Investor: "When the ideas are hot, it is time to call in the scouts. They know what they're looking for. "
