- 17. NATURAL EDGES The typologycreated and existing Klang River creates hard edge that gives a boundary for our micro site. SOFT EDGE CREATED BY THE SURROUNDING AMBIANCE Jalan Ampang gives different ambiance at different time. The night ambiance is more lively compare to the morning and evening side. It segregates the microsite, where the sense of community is more apparent at night. PARKING AREA Existing car park areas creates a soft edge and promotes pedestrian walkability, activating the alleys and building between the soft edges. MAIN TRANSPORTATION ROUTE Tun Razak highway that cuts vertically creates hard edge that creates a visual boundary between the west and east side of the site. ALLEYWAY SEPARATION Soft edge created by alleyways that separates the building.

Few activities can be mention which are Tapak, Zouk, etc. but that is only suitable for the youngsters. Passageway are encouraged to be design within the site for the transition user group to spark their interest against the cultural hub when they pass by the site. Weekdays have more transitional user, hence instead of only opening on weekdays, the cultural hub is encouraged to be function on weekends too, as the office workers (the most of user group) can bring their families to the cultural hub.

CLOCK TOWER Significance clock tower which provides passerby to identify the road of Jalan Ampang and Jalan Tun Razak. AMPANG PARK SHOPPING CENTRE Malaysia's first shopping centre. Built in the early 1970's. It will be demolished to make way for the construction of MRT station. AMPANG PARK LRT STATION One of the busiest LRT station which connects people to many prominent buildings.

Avoid observation deck to be designed facing crossroad junction due to traffic jam. Ampang park Shopping Centre, as a major landmark and was the essence of our micro site has now been demolished. The cultural hub could become one of the new landmark at the site, and also involve in the reinvention of genius loci of the site that had been created by the Ampang Park Shopping Centre.
