• 1.
  Owl City –Shooting Star The video opens an establishing shot. 0:00 – 0:02 0:03-0:05 Shots of buildings which cuts to Adam and cuts back 0:05- 0.18. Adam starts singing at 0.16. Cuts to Adam playing the keyboard again. Close ups and mid shots cut back and forth. 0:28-0:29 Cuts back to Adam singing. 0:29-0:30 0:30-0:31 Cuts back to girl and boy. 0:36-:0.38 Building at 0:36, 0:37 cuts in to mid shot of the people. 0:32-0:35 Cuts back to Adam. 0:34 Mid shot from close up. 0:05-0:18 0:18-0:22 Then cuts to this close up of Adam playing the keyboard. 0:22-0:27 Cuts to a long shot of a man laying in bed. Cuts to a two shot of a boy and a girl.

  0:38-0:44 Fast pacedshots of Adam, goes with beat. 0:45-0:47 0:47-0:51 Mid shot of buildings Cuts back to a mid shot of a girl with an edited light/glow in her chest. 1:01-:1.05 Adam singing with keyboard. 0:52 -0:58, Shots of Adam singing with keyboard– starts with a close up, cuts to mid shot, back to close up, back to mid shot then back to close up. 1:05-1:10 1:10-1:18 Adam singing with keyboard. 1:19-1:20 Cuts to a person getting off the bed. 1:34-1.36 1:20-1:34 cuts back from Adam to people shining then running 1:36-2:43 Cuts from Adam singing to people running. (2:01-2:04 cuts very quickly between shots – in time with the music!) 0:58-1:01 Cuts back to the two shot. Cuts to lights which turn on and off – goes in time with the beat.

  2:42-2:44 High shotof people running. People start running past Adam. Adam gets off his chair and runs with them, he gets a light/glow in his chest too. Establishing shot of the lights – then fades to black. 2:51-3:40 3:41-3:56 3:57-4:02

  Ellie Goulding -Lights 0:00-0:07 0:07-0:15 It then reveals to be Ellie, and a long shot. The camera zooms out slowly. It then cuts to a mid shot and pans around her slowly. 0:15-0:22 0:22-0:24 It then cuts to a mid shot of Ellie. The camera zooms out slowly, then zooms in slowly. 0:24-0:36 0:41-0:43 This long shot is showed later on. The camera also pans around it. 0:47-0:48 A bit later on this is showed on screen. The camera pans around it. 0:52-0:53 This long shot is showed. The camera pans around her, just like the others. The video starts out black with a few lights sparkling. It then cuts to an extreme long shot.

  Cuts back andforth between her singing with a red light and her singing with green light. When she says ‘calling’ it switches between each other. 0:53-0:54 1:03-1:05 The camera pans around this long shot. 1:09-1:10 1:13-1:18 1:19-1:24 1:33-1:36 1:36-End The camera also pans around this long shot. The camera then cuts to a close up of Ellie but this time she’s singing with a purple tint instead of green. She then starts playing the drums shown by a mid shot. The camera keeps cutting back to her throughout the rest of the video after this shot has been showed. It then cuts to a close up of Ellie singing with lights on the screen. It then cuts to a long shot of Ellie swinging around a light. For the rest of the video it repeats all of the stuff we’ve seen so far.

  Bastille – Thingswe lost in the fire The video opens up with 2 different establishing shots to set the scene. 0:00-0:08 0:07-0:15 The camera then tilts upwards to reveal lots of people. It then cuts to this extreme long shot of dogs running. Starts singing at 0:16 It then cuts to a long shot of a dog on a car. 0:16-0:23 0:39-0:44 0:23-0:39 A man bends to pick something up. It goes from a long shot to a close up shot. The camera tilts upwards as he’s bringing the bullet up to look at it. 0:45-1:12 The group of people then start running past the star. At 1:01- shot of him singing after they ran past him. 1:04-1:06 Shots what he’s holding (bullet).
• 7.
  The camera pansaround the room, then follows a girl as she walks. 1:12-1:29 1:30-1:43 Cuts to a mid shot of him singing. At 1.38 cuts to the girl instead with the exact same lighting and background. At 1:43 she fades out. 1:45-1:55 Star walks to a car then gets in it. There’s extremely low lighting. Then cuts to a mid shot of a girl walking along and the car passes her. The star then comes up behind her. They hug and then she runs away. 2:30-3:22 1:55-:2.30 The car is driving along. On the way the star gets passed a gun. When he gets passed it it then cuts to a shot of him on the road with a black background looking at the gun while the car passes him. 2:45-3:22 In the process of the screenshot before, it also cuts away from that to see the car swirl around and then cuts back to them and repeats.
• 8.
  3:42-3:30 Cuts back to dogs running in, then the group of people running away. Then cuts to a shot of blood dripping from a car. The camera zooms out very slowly. 3:32-3:38 3:30-3:32 3:38-3:49 3:49-3:52 It then cuts back to the same scene before when the car drives past him. He drops the gun and first we see the bullets hitting the floor through a close up then we see the gun hit the floor. 3:52-4:13 At 3:52 it cuts to a close up of him singing. At 4:00 it cuts to this mid/long shot of him walking in the rain. Cuts to this close up of the star singing. Rule of thirds used. It cuts back to the shot of the car but on a straight angle instead, emphasising the blood.
