How did you attract/address your target audience?
Attractive Main Protagonist Our main protagonist attracts a male audience as he represents common attributes that teenage male aspire to, for example mystery, sexual magnetism. The females of our audience are attracted to his physical appearance and to his strong and brave character. His attractiveness to watch on screen makes him a key element of attraction.
Other attractive members of the cast We also made sure that we had other attractive cast members in our thriller. We made sure that this was not only a male film so we added in an attractive girl to be more appealing to a female audience. Therefore we gain a larger audience. By adding in attractive girls we draw in more male viewers and maybe a few people who do not generally watch horror films.
Making Our Film As Gory As Possible The audience we are attracting is an audience who like horror, blood, death and scary scenes, people who would like Saw. In our film we have made sure to use as much fake blood as possible not only to make the dead people seem more realistic but to attract our audience and make our thriller very Saw like. Our thriller attracts an audience who want to be scared and are in for a shock. We would like our audience to sit at the edge of their seats with the hairs on the back of their necks standing up. Our film is based on torture therefore we make it as gruesome as we possibly can. (e.g.. Films like Hostel)
Mute – Redrum Productions Another way we have attracted our audience was by using catchy names such a Mute and Redrum. Redrum productions was a particularly good name because redrum spells murder backwards. We got the idea of this name from the film, The shinning. Mute we found was a good name because it was simple and catchy. An audience member would want to know why a thriller would be called mute, the reason is because our victims can not speak because he puts tape over there mouths so they are silenced forever.
Internet Our killer looks for his victims on the internet, he stalks and then finds, abducts and kills them. This would attract an audience of social networking websites such as Facebook, Twitter and Myspace. This would attract a large number of teenage viewers from 16 to 21 year olds.
