Task 7 - Review
Review
I believe I have learnt a lot from this assignment. I feel I now know a lot about Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop and
would be capable of creating some good artwork in them. I was however very aware of the timescale and I was unable
to add as much detail to the final piece as possible. On the final day, I spent a lot of time adding to the piece but just
kept finding I wanted to add more, and I eventually ran out of time. I was however able to create a nicely detailed
piece. To achieve these results, I used my plan from task 4, but also set some small goals to get to several times a
week. I read the assignment carefully and tried to implement concept art of ideas where ever possible and as much as I
could, and the research images I found proved to be a great help with the final product. Many of the scenes for
example gave me ideas on how to draw my own scene. When I got onto Illustrator and Photoshop, I found it very easy
to grasp how to use them as I use computers quite a lot. I quickly learnt how to use tools and created test pieces such
as drawing bodies to fully practice using them and adjusting colours/hues in photos. We also practiced a lot in our
graphics design lesson before we started the actual assignment. Throughout the course, I have picked up tons of useful
skills for graphics design and I have even began to use these software's at home to create images and avatars which
have further expanded my knowledge. Finally, I believe that my completed artwork looks quite good. My personal good
points are that I have put a lot of detail into the character and likewise, a lot of time into the entire piece. A bad point
however is that some sections have a much smaller amount of detail that others, and I feel like I should have focused
more on these areas. Overall, I have very much enjoyed this course as I have learnt a lot and have always liked
creating art and developing ideas and products for a possible future game.
