The 2016 Infinite Dial study by Edison Research and Triton Digital surveyed 2,001 people aged 12 and older about audiobook consumption in the U.S. It found that 43% have listened to an audiobook, with higher rates among women (55%) and older age groups, particularly those 65 and older (17%). The average audiobook listener consumed 6.7 audiobooks in the past year, an increase from the previous year.
