THE STORY OF
THE DELUDED DRAGON
A Long time ago, there was an old man who lived with
his wife and their many children
They lived in the middle forest, sheltered in a small
hovel
One day, the old man asked to his wife to make a honey
cake for his dinner and than set off to find some work
He walked all morning until he come to a well. Beside
the well there was a large stone that served as a table
for travelers.
WELL
The old man take a rest and place the cake on the
stone. Soon, he was fast asleep.
While he slept, the birds came down and ate his cake.
And when he woke, the flies were finishing the crumbs
CAKE
Quickly, he brought his hand down on stone killing 50
on his tormentors with one blow
He wrote on the stone table that he had killed 50 souls
with just one blow. After that, he resumed his nap.
I HAD

SOULS
WITH JUST
ONE BLOW
While the old man slept, a dragon came to the well for
a drink. When he saw the man sleeping there, the
dragon crept closer.
WELL
The dragon read what was written on the stone, the
dragon stepped back in fright.

ONE BLOW
The old man woke up and saw the dragon and he
frightened too. So, he and the dragon just sat there,
staring at each other.
Each one was so afraid of the other that together, they
swore an oath of brotherhod. they would be friend.
TO BE FRIEND
The dragon invited the old man to his palace to dinner
with him and his wife.
COME TO MY PALACE
On the way, the old man saw a rabbit and decided to
catch it .
The dragon was impressed. He thought to him self. “1’d
better be carefull. This old man is very clever.”

When they got to the dragon’s palace, the old man
bowed to the dragon’s wife and presented her with the
rabbit.
The dragon ask to the old man to take a pitcher, go
down to the well, and bring back some water for the
stew.
WELL
The old man asked the dragon for a shovel to dig
around the well and bring the whole thing back to the
dragon on his back.
The dragon shocked. “no brother. That won’t do at all.
when the well is dry, we’ll all die of thirst.”

The dragon ask the old man to go into the forest and
bring back a nice oak tree for the fire.
The old man walked into the forest and began to make
a bark rope. He twined it around a grove of trees

doing?
I decided, I’d bring this entire grove
to the palace. So you will have
firewood for weeks
No. please
leave my
forest as it is
That evening, the old man, the dragon, and his wife
enjoyed the supper, talked a while, and finally said
goodnight. After the dragon had gone to bed, the old
man crept out of his room and listened at the dragon’s
door as he and his wife is talking.
I’m really afraid that this old man will
forget his oath and kill us both as we
sleep
Why don’t you take your huge club and
hit him on the head while he sleeps?
Hearing this, the old man the old man hurried back to
his room where he took a log and carefully dressed it in
his nightclothes and pulled the blankets over it. The
dragon came in and hit the log with his club and went
back to sleep
In the morning, the old man came down to breakfast to
the surprise of the dragon and his wife. The dragon
shook and fear
I slept terribly last night.
There was a fly that kept
landing on my head
Haaahhhh????
The dragon hurriedly went to his treasure room and
come back with an enormous sack filled with gold and
jawels.
Shouldn’t you be on your
way home today?I came out seek my fortune,
and if I return without
something to show for my
travels. My wife will be upset
with me
The dragon hoisted the sack onto his back and they
walked off to the old man’s house..
Here brother. Take this to your wife
with my compliments.
I would be happy to
take it to her
Bro. didn’t I bring your wife the
rabbit? It would be rude for you
not to take this to my wife yourself
When they got the clearing, the man asked the dragon
to wait there, saying that he must prepare his family for
the dragon’s visit.
Wait here, I must prepare
my family for your visit.
The old man went into his little hovel and gave each of
his children a knife and fork and told them what to do.
Than he cald the dragon
C’mon, my friend. The dog
are all tied up
The dragon slowly crept the door and just as he was
about to open it and walk in, all of the children run out
waving their knives and forks and screaming…
Hurray!!! Father has brought us a dragon
for our supper. Lets kill him and eat him
up….
The dragon threw down the sack of treasure and ran
for his life.
Wusshhh …
The old man took the dragon’s money and bought a
fine new house, a farm, and new clothes for his wife
and his children, and they never were poor again….
