Roger Deakins Essay
Roger Deakins is a cinematographer who is well known for his work on award winning films that
include Fargo, The Shawshank Redemption, No Country for Old Men, A Beautiful Mind, True Grit,
and more. He has earned nine academy award nominations on his work. He has also partnered with
the Coen brothers. Roger Deakins studied at Bath Academy of Art and then extended his education
later on and went to study at the National Film School. He started out as a still photographer, but went
on into the motion picture business. Deakins got his first cinematography gig in the business as a crew
member aboard a yacht with a documentary film crew. The yacht was in an around the world race,

The owners did not allow the crew to touch anything, which was difficult for setting up lighting
equipment and necessary props. Deakins felt that balloon lights to light the interior would work the
best, however, the ceilings were very low and there was no room. These kinds of lights are also broad
sources that do not create the soft, selective wash that Roger Deakins was looking for. The chief
lighting technician of this crew, Chris Napolitano, had previously worked with Deakins on No
Country for Old Men and True Grit. He remembered a favourite lighting solution to the lighting
predicament and helped employ it for the shoot. This technique required clear, 60 watt globes to be put
into large ring lights that are fitted with forty to sixty standard, medium base sockets. They would then
install these light units around chandeliers that already exist in the mansion s ceilings. This technique
was the perfect solution to Deakins problem because it helped create a soft pool of light around the
existing fixtures and did not intrude on the space on the floor. Deakins wanted to shoot 360 degrees,
which required an empty floor, so this solution was the best approach. The only time Deakins brought
in floor lighting was to light the occasional

Evaluation Of An E File System
Painters Case Study This is a thought provoking case study which, like most of the effort in
Sociotechnical Theory, is concentrated on a certain type of production system , in this case an E File
system. Socio Technical Theory is an intellectual model that helps us recognize patterns in the way
technology is used. How well businesses can utilize this model can make or break the success or
failure of an organization as they change the way they do business or introduce new technology to
their workforce. In looking at the case study by Painter B he mentions the renovation of a paper
method to an electronic E file system. Reasons standing behind these changes were noted;
Claims from injured
Delayed payment on claims
Rising costs of disability benefits. According to Painter (NA), The Electronic Claim File system was
customized for the assertion of reimbursement and compensation division of an insurance
conglomerate, Workers Compensation Board (p.2). The firm had huge client database and hence the
main task was to collect data, weigh evidence, and relate specified information in making difficult
decisions about workers injury compensation entitlements in an assortment of businesses.
Painter, the author of this study executed a sequence of before and after evaluations and
comprehensive consultations, approved and developed by labor and executives, to aid them closely
with the effects of E File transition on the employees, during the periods of pilot testing

Conflicts Within A Group And How A Manager Can Bring Up...
Conflicts can happen in everyday life with people and in organizations. Conflicts need to be handled
so that the situation does not escalate further. Most people look at conflicts as a bad situation, but not
all conflicts are bad, some are good, especially when discussing an idea within a group. In an
organization there are times when a conflict may need to happen for an issue to be resolved, but when
this happens the people involved need to look at if this conflict is really necessary to resolve the issue.
How to address conflicts in a group and how a manager can bring up the conflict without making them
worse is what will be discussed next. At many jobs there are projects given that have to be completed
in groups and they re more than likely is going to be people within the group that do not necessarily
agree on how the project should be completed. This can cause a conflict to arise and to resolve this
conflict requires all members of the group to have a say in the resolution. To ensure sufficient
discussion of contentious issues in a work group, I would have one person be in charge of the group.
This person would make sure that everyone had a turn to give their input and I would make it known
to all the group members that what is said cannot be held against the person who says it. When
managers need to bring up unspoken conflicts into the open without making them worse, it may be
best to have a third party present that can ensure that the issue is addressed

The Advice To Leaders By Machiavelli s The Prince
The advice given to leaders by Machiavelli in The Prince is still relevant today. The life of the current
leader of Russia, Vladimir Putin shows us in many ways that the advice is still relevant. Vladimir
Putin was born on October 7, 1952 in Leningrad, Russia, which is now St. Petersburg. Putin studied
law at Leningrad State University and then served as a foreign intelligence officer for the KGB for
fifteen years. Putin reached the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in 1990 and then retired from the KGB and
returned to Russia. Soon Putin became an advisor for Sobchak, who was the first democratically
elected mayor of St. Petersburg. Putin moved to Moscow in 1996 and started working as a deputy for

Propaganda Devices In The Galaxy S4 Commercial
Propaganda devices in the Galaxy S4 Commercial Commercials are often used to produce an image
for a product or service that seems ideal to the consumer or user. In the eyes of consumers,
commercials can become repetitive and lose their touch at times. Some ways to keep viewers
interested in these commercials, are the use of propaganda devices. Propaganda devices are a
collection of devices and tricks intended to influence your thinking. Gokturk s (2005) study explains
that propaganda is:
The spreading of ideas, information, or rumor for the purpose of helping or injuring an institution, a
cause, or a person; ideas, facts, or allegations spread deliberately to further one s cause or to damage
an opposing cause; also: a public action having such an effect.
Every commercial ever created has some sort of propaganda device, because there would be no reason
to watch it if there was not. Whether it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By using glittering generalities, Samsung grabs the viewers attention and enhances everyday
experiences to an unrealistic level, making them more likely to purchase this product. In similarity,
Plain Folk Appeal relates to your everyday average situation like the graduation in the commercial

shocked by this new technology . Unfinished Comparison shown in this commercial shows us what
Samsung can do versus what Apple cannot do without specifically stating that it is an Apple product,
yet physically showing us, it is. It ultimately results in more business. This is a good use of
propaganda, while avoiding lawsuits and any other legal trouble. Propaganda devices are useful
because they are showing the benefits, in this case scenario, Samsung, without showing the benefits of
other competitor s devices. Propaganda devices make it more convenient for the customer to go out

Did Christianity Change Over Time
Christianity is far from what many might call a perfect and successful religion. Saying that it has been
completely accepted, unchanged, and resolute since the beginning of the A.D. times would be false.
Events like the murder of Christians within the gladiator games of the Roman Circus and the need to
create the Edict of Milan show this clearly. Not only this but it has changed over time, as shown with
the events of the Iconoclast Controversy between the Roman Orthodox and Catholic churches when
differences in what should be allowed within the Christian worship. Christianity is not a successful,
untouched religion. It was certainly not wholly welcomed at the time of Christ s birth , people have
been persecuted and treated terribly for having that as their religion, and not everyone has accepted it

Christianity began with the calling of Abraham and the founding of the Jewish nation. They eventually
found their way to Canaan, remaining there peacefully until the kingdom was split into two. They
soon later fell to the Assyrians. The Assyrians then in turn fall to the Babylonians, who are conquered
by Alexander the Great. They essentially follow Rome through its existence and go into the age of the
Byzantine Empire, the point in which Christians finally had a breakthrough and could start to practice
their religion free of worry about being killed for it. If none of these events were to have happened,
Christianity might not have had a chance to grow or start at all, even and it s massive influence upon
the world would be lost. Prior to the rise of Christians, the world had been a primarily polytheistic
place, and most wanted to keep it that way. This is one of the reasons that Christians faced so much
prosecution in the beginning. That is, until the Edict of Milan is created by Constantine

Fangirl Summary
I have finished reading Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. This book is about a young woman named Cath
and how college changes her relationships and creates new ones. In the second half of this book, the
reader sees how Cath s relationship with her twin sister, Wren, is on unstable grounds. The sisters
differing personalities and different opinions on what college life should be about, causes this rift
between them. Cath s relationship with her mother begins to change also. Cath resents her mother
because her mother left when she was eight. Cath then had to take over the matriarchal position in the
household and lost parts of her childhood because of that, so when Cath s mother asks to be a part of
Cath s life, Cath staunchly refuses. Cath also starts ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the novel, the author foreshadowed to Cath s father having a mental breakdown. An example of the
foreshadowing of the breakdown is Cath s father calling Cath sporadically. Often times, he would call
Cath with unhinged ideas, seeking her opinion. He would also call Cath at bizarre times of the day, or
he would go days without calling. One of the ideas he called Cath with was having a slide go down
from her room to the bathroom. These details help to foreshadow to a possible mental crisis. The
reader can also see foreshadowing for a mental breakdown in Cath s father s self care. Cath has to call
him and remind him to eat healthy meals. When she does not call he eats pizza, does not do laundry,
and overworks. When Cath goes to see her father, she sees empty pizza boxes and piles of laundry
littering the floor. Cath s father s worsening standards of hygiene foreshadowed to a mental
breakdown later in the book. Another evaluation I made is that the author wrote Levi as a foil to Cath.
An example of Levi and Cath s contrasting characteristics is their reading habits. Levi dislikes reading
because he feels like when he reads his eyes take in information but his brain does not understand. On
the other hand, Cath is very passionate about reading. She reads her own fanfiction constantly and
occasionally fits in time to read other fanfiction relating to Simon Snow. I believe that the author
created this contrast to provide a way for the

The United States launched a nuclear testing program on the Marshall Islands (atolls). The testing was
done primarily on the Islands of Bikini and Eniwetok between 1946 and 1958, resulting in the
contamination of many of the Marshall Island (Takahashi, Fujimori, Simon, Bechtner, Edwards and
Trott, 1999). Consequences of the contamination from the 65 tests were difficult to determine because
of the cumulative nature of radiation exposure (Takahashi, 1999). However, on March 1, 1954, one
discharged hydrogen bomb test on the Bikini atoll, named Castle Bravo, stood out more than the rest
(Robbins, J. Adams, W., Date unknown). Castle Bravo was different from previous nuclear tests. It
took place near ground level with an unexpected shift in the wind, causing an enormous amount of
fallout across atolls as far as 200 miles away (Robbins, Date unknown). Rongelap (105 miles from

The Issue Of Asylum Seekers
While the issue of asylum seekers has mainly challenged Australia s political power and resources, the
debate is mostly ethical and putting human dignity first is integral. Whilst both political parties have
very similar policies in regards to the topical issues, which are in essence going partially against the
Church s stance and human dignity. Australia has the economy, land, low population and living style
to support more asylum seekers/refugees, especially when we have a ranking of 48 in the world on the
scale of how many refugees we currently have accepted.
With both political parties having fairly similar opinions on the refugee situation, only having slight
differences, only a few differences separate the two, with labor wanting to increase the refugee intake
per year to almost double of what the coalition currently has in place which is 13,750 and labor plan to
raise it up to 27,000. (Australian Labor Party) Also labor also plans to reinstate the UN s refugee
convention, which Abbott is currently undermining, which is technically international law. In one way
this breach of international law Abbot has broken is refusing to take refugees that has been allocated to
Australia by the UN, for it is overstepping the coalitions humanitarian intake policy. Also labor will

For someone recently introduced to Android science fiction, I found the book very thought provoking.
Yes, there is some scientific bit to keep the reader interested, though I have mixed feelings about the
same; since on one hand people looking for pure science fiction might be disappointed while the
newly initiated would find the facts quite easy to grasp. However, what really impressed me was the
slightly philosophical and emotional quota in the book.
The author intelligently introduces plot twists to explore the question of how would an android
construct its identity. Since, the android is essentially built of metal and wires, is it right to assume that
it is non living, even though it is made to resemble human life as closely as possible. The story goes a
step further, and compares an android s existence to that of a slave, who is also at times subject to
molestation, because an android can t complain, can

The Dream
In the early twentieth century, film maker and producer Adolph Zukor met Jesse Lasky, owner of Jesse
L. Lasky Feature Play Company. The two men admired each others previous work and, in 1916,
decided to combine forces. They created Paramount pictures and had one of the most familiar slogans
in the film industry, If it s a Paramount Picture it s the Best Show in Town . Proving their slogan true

Disadvantages Of Narcissism
As they were in middle class, which was higher class than what my siblings and I were at, I wondered
if this would apply to them. With my experience, I believe it would since they were of higher class
than us and those narcissists would be boastful about accomplishments and possessions. Here, some
readers may be saying that social class does not necessarily cause one to be narcissistic. I am not
saying that not all those of higher class are narcissists, but rather that it can put them for a higher risk
of becoming narcissistic. Other factors, such as social media and parenting, could also contribute to
one becoming narcissistic. Going along with the factor of parenting, the question of how that family
would behave with each other had come up. I have already seen how they could treat others outside of
their family, whether it be to put on a different face before their true colors leek out after getting to
know them. From what I have seen and heard, they tend to have a golden child and a sort of
scapegoat. In the article, The Strength of the Scapegoat in the Narcissist Family, Julie Hall, a
contributing writer for the Huffington Post, describes a scapegoat as ...the narcissist s go to projection

A curse, as defined by Merriam Webster Dictionary, is a prayer or invocation for harm or injury to

Any person with even a minimal education knows the term curse is used for negativity. Whether you
are cursing someone who cut you off in traffic, or just telling someone to shut up , it is still releasing
negativity upon someone. I m not saying I m above such actions, I am just as guilty of uttering
something that wasn t nice to others. I m not proud of it, and I do try and react in a different way, but I
think the thought process of most people is to react to when they feel they have been wronged. While I
understand that thought process, and at times have wanted to seek revenge myself, I usually just ask
the Gods and Goddess to give me strength to be of strong mind, and for them to deal justice as they

The Effect Of Angular Momentum On Classical Mechanics
INTRODUCTION
We know the importance of Angular Momentum in Classical Mechanics; the total angular momentum
of an isolated physical system is a constant of the motion. For example, if a point particle P, of mass
m, is moving in a central potential (one which depends only on the distance between P and a fixed
point O), the force to which P is subjected is always directed towards O. Its moment with respect to O
is consequently zero, and the angular momentum theorem implies that derivative of L (Angular
momentum of P with respect to O) with respect to time is zero.
This fact has important consequences: the motion of the particle P is limited to a fixed plane (the plane
passing through O and perpendicular to the angular momentum L); moreover, this motion obeys the
law of constant areal velocity (Kepler s Second Law).
All these properties have their equivalents in Quantum Mechanics. With the angular momentum L of a
classical system is associated with an observable L, actually a set of three observables, Lx, Ly, and Lz,
which correspond to the three components of L in a Cartesian Frame. These three observables
commute with the Hamiltonian H for a particle in the central potential V(r). This property simplifies
the determination and classification of eigenstates of H.
Quantization of Angular Momentum: the component, along a fixed axis, of the intrinsic angular
momenta are quantized, which enables us to understand atomic magnetism, the Zeeman Effect, etc.

Elder abuse Essay
Elders in the United States should not have to go through situations of abuse like the one Mildred
Mortenson suffered. However, this type of situations happen more often than they should and sadly,
there is not enough being done to prevent it. Elder abuse should be recognized as an increasing and
very serious problem in our society. As elders grow more physically frail and begin to depend on
others to meet their basic needs, they tend to become vulnerable to intentional abuse and neglect
within their own home as well as assisted living facilities such as nursing homes. Unfortunately, it is
not possible to know exactly how many elders are being abused across the Nation. Due to under
reporting, variations in the definition of elder abuse, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, elder abuse is also common among the millions of elder Americans who reside in nursing
homes. A study where 2,000 nursing home residents were interviewed, reported that 44% of the
residents had been abused and 95% said they had been neglected or seen another resident neglected.
They also state that 91% of nursing homes lack adequate staff to properly care for patients and 36%
are known to have been in violation of elderly abuse laws (National Center on Elder Abuse). This
information is extremely alarming. If these facts have already been uncovered, why is it that no one is
doing anything to prevent this from happening to others? To better understand the scope of the
problem, it is crucial that society knows what is considered as elder abuse and why it is important to
resolve this issue. Elder abuse refers to any intentional or negligent act by a caregiver or any other
person that causes harm or a risk of harm to a vulnerable adult. There are many forms in which an
elder can be abused, Elder Abuse and Neglect Journal of Psychosocial Nursing Mental Health

Anna Funder s Investigative Account Of The Traumas...
Anna Funder s investigative account of the traumas experienced during the totalitarian governance of
the GDR (German Democratic Republic), Stasiland, presents an historical account of life under the
communist regime and behind the Berlin Wall, an historical account which manifests in the personal
stories, descriptions of the remnants of the East German government. Funder presents interviews of
victims of the GDR to create a tangible account of the power held by the government. She further
conveys the historical importance of the former Stasi operatives to be powerful in presenting a
complete depiction of East German society. However, it is also through Funder s presentation of the
former East Germany to be permeated by its history that creates her powerful portrayal of East
Germany.
In Funder s depiction of personal reflections she affords the Stasi victims the ability to present a
powerful account of the GDR. By demonstrating the victims to have been inflicted with sustained
trauma, evidenced by Julia s apprehensive stance towards Funder when revealing her story by seeking
to rapidly depart asserting I ve... got a class , and leaving Funder to contemplate their conversation due
to an appointment she had forgotten. Such reservation when revealing her experiences with the Stasi is
indicative of the Julia s Stasi ordeal to continue to permeate her life. This further provides Funder with

You could sell out Madison Square Garden. Thousands of people could watch you! You could be a big

On the other hand, the use of anaphoric reference is mainly used to refer to George s mother since she
becomes the starting point of the plot s dramatic action when George confess to his friends that his
mother had caught him. There are many examples as regards that in the first part of the episode:
JERRY: So, what did she do?
GEORGE: First she screams, George, what are you doing?! My God! (...)
ELAINE: (Wide eyed) So, she fell?
ELAINE: (Between chuckles) How is she?
GEORGE: (Somewhat angered) She s in traction.
Inclusive and Exclusive we
In this passage, Jerry uses the so called exclusive we (speaker plus other(s), excluding addressee) to
state the differences between men and women as regards masturbation:
JERRY: We have to do it. It s part of our lifestyle. It s like, uh...shaving.
Both we in this sentence refer to men or men s world as a way of keeping Elaine, the only woman in
the group of friends, out of the contest.
Yet later on in the story, Jerry uses what Yules calls inclusive we (speaker and addressee included) to
include Elaine in the bet, and after they (men) allowed her to compete in such a contest:
JERRY: Well, obviously, we all know each other very well, (Elaine slightly laughs) I m sure that we ll
all feel comfortable within the confines of the honor system.

In his article Relations Natural and Unnatural, Richard B. Hays states that after deciding what Paul
thought concerning homosexuality, we should still decide how to construe the authority of his opinion
in the present time. There are many open questions about how the bible functions as an authority for
normative ethical judgments. We cannot ease ourselves of the obligation for moral decision by
engaging to the plain sense of single proof text, but on the flip side, should we feel constrained to
pressure Paul, through exegetical scowls, to verbalize what we cerebrate he ought to have verbalized.
We must let the text have its verbally express, and then we must choose what obedience to God

possible misuse of the biblical teachings as in the edifications that are used in later historical settings.

The main goal of this section is to provide a review on literature and related models to the research
problem. Generally, there are numerous empirical analyses by international scholars about assessing
and measuring competitiveness of commercial banks. However, there is no any study related to this
problem in Vietnam. Firstly, the school using Factor Analysis method to measure competitiveness of
commercial banks, XIA Bin, PAN Bin, và XIA Hui, (2008) said that the sharp change in the
management environment in banking system of China is an important sign to implement researches
and analyses objectively and efficiently. Therefore, in their studies, authors used Factor Analysis
method to analyze and appraise the competitiveness of commercial banks in China, from which, the
weight of each indexes would be defined, simultaneously the competitiveness state of the banks would
be manifested by ranking them into different categories. Specially, in this model, besides financial
variables to be used to analyze, other factors such as governance structure, business innovation and
human resources are also considered. Finally, they combined results of this research with the actual
conditions of Chinese commercial banks to provide important strategies for strengthening the
competitiveness of their country and simultaneously keeping the persistent development of China s
economy in a healthy and safe way. Similar to Chinese researchers about methodology aspects but

Biomass As A Renewable Energy Resource
3 Biomass as a renewable energy resource
Biomass can be considered as a renewable energy resource, although burning biomass releases carbon
dioxide (CO2) to the atmosphere similar to burning fossil fuel (Liu H. 2011). There is a significant
difference in CO2 release between burning a fossil fuel and burning biomass. Burning a fossil fuel
releases CO2 that has been locked up for millions of years in the ground, affecting the natural CO2
cycle and resulting in an increase in the CO2 concentration in the atmosphere. Burning biomass
simply return to the atmosphere the same amount of CO2 which was absorbed from the air via the
photosynthesis process while the biomass plant was growing over a relatively short period of time (a
few years to decade), and there is no net release of C02 into the atmosphere, i.e., CO2 neutral, if the
cycle of growth and harvest is sustained. Therefore, biomass can consider as a renewable energy
resource as shown in Figure 3.1 (Li u H. 2011). If the production and transportation of the biomass
fuel involve the use of fossil fuel, there would become net release of CO2 with biomass combustion
(Liu H. 2011) Figure 3.1 Biomass is a renewable energy resource (Liu H. 20 11)
In fact, real biomass energy production systems are differing from the ideal carbon cycle shown in
Figure 3.1 in two important ways. Firstly, the production of biomass energy always consumes fossil
energy for the farming, transportation and production stages of the process (Hill et al.

You must consider their target audience and what could be done to increase their clientele.
What are the different ways in which PlayDays can use to promote their online e commerce system?
The site structure:

types of payment, delivery details; image; style
In order for my client PlayDays to promote themselves in the most effective way possible, it is
important that they should focus on the appearance of the UI (User Interface) of the website as this
may arguably be the most important area to worry about when a customer is accessing the e commerce
website. If PlayDays has an unprofessional UI for the customers to use, this may be too unattractive or
difficult to navigate which could consequently mean losing out on sales or even causing somewhat
damage to the reputation of the business as unprofessionalism will lead to customers to lose trust
which would surely do more harm than good. Therefore, by putting in the time and effort in the
structure of the site in terms of layout and ease of use for users, this may lead to positive word of

market.

Lessons Of Ronald Reagan Administration
Full Article
IT IS VERY COMMON to hear that government would run better if it were more businesslike. I think
that is correct. Nevertheless, I will turn the tables on that proposition. I believe that business would
benefit from learning some management lessons from a surprisingly gifted governmental executive
Ronald Reagan.
Those of us who had the good fortune of working for President Reagan witnessed firsthand the
effective management style of an unusually successful chief executive. Here are 10 lessons that I
learned from observing him in action.
Lesson 1: Set Clear and Attainable Objectives, albeit Goals that Seem Difficult to Achieve. In early
1981, President Reagan set his sights on a healthier economy with lower inflation ... Show more

I ll give you a very personal example. In a public presentation describing the budget problems facing
the United States, I had the temerity to suggest that annual Social Security benefit increases (the so
called cost of living adjustments, or COLAs) were not part of an insurance program. They were really
welfare benefits paid by someone else, in this case the working population. Some member of the
Congress was so angry with me that he urged my impeachment. I was very relaxed. The odds were
that, if the issue ever did reach the president, he would just have a good laugh. Of course, the threat of
my impeachment quickly evaporated.
Lesson 5: Use Humor to Good Effect. Yes, Ronald Reagan loved to tell funny stories. One of his
favorite ones concerned the boy who was digging through a manure pile. His explanation for that
strange action was that there had to be a pony in it somewhere.
But usually the president s purpose for telling a humorous tale was very serious. He was always too
polite to tell some boring person to shut up. Rather, he preferred to interrupt by telling a story. When
he finished, the discussion would quickly shift to a new subject.
On other occasions, when the internal debate was in danger of getting too strident, he would break the
tension by telling another funny story. He possessed a deep inventory of humor, much of which drew
upon his authentic Irish brogue as well as a fine Italian accent.

The Evolution Of The Accounting Profession
Discussion Board 1: Case 1 5: The Evolution of the Accounting Profession Throughout history the
accounting profession has seen continuous growth. It has even been discovered that an elaborate
accounting system was utilized as early as 8000 to 3000 B.C. (Schroeder, Clark, Cathey, 2014).
Humans have deemed it necessary for centuries to account for money and inventory items. In the
nineteenth century, the accounting profession took another major step forward when the joint ventures
evolved into corporations in England resulting in stockholders needing financial records reflecting the
companies performance (Schroeder et. al, 2014). This emergence of corporations brought about the
need for reporting on a periodic basis in order to allow owners and prospective stockholders to
evaluate the company to determine if their investments, or potential investments, yielded a return
(Schroeder et. al, 2014). The evolution of these corporations brought about the need for accounting
standards and laws that would that protect the investment of shareholders, require that dividends be
paid from net gains, and require that audits be conducted by people other than the directors of the
organization(s) (Schroeder et. al, 2014). These changes in the nineteenth century led the charge in the
development for accounting standards and laws that we still follow today, and they are constantly
evolving and improving in order to protect investors from scandal and fraud. The latter part of the

Archetypes In The Collective Unconscious
Looking at the concept of archetypes in the collective unconscious is helpful in understanding the
history of human beings as well as an individual s personal history. In every being there exists two
psychic systems. The personal unconscious and the collective unconscious. The personal unconscious
is unique to each individual. It consists of a collection of forgotten or repressed experiences and
memories that at one point were present in the conscious thoughts of the individual being. These
repressed experiences are referred to as complexes. A complex is the way one remembers and

Ear Riddle
The riddle stars off simple: Does a tree, if it falls, make a sound if no one is around? The answer to
this riddle is no, but this is incorrect. Before going into why this is incorrect, one needs to understand
what would take place if someone did hear a tree fall. The auditory process is a complex system of
fluid, bones, and receptors that transform sound waves into discernible auditory messages to our brain.
Taken from the Stanford s Children s Health (2017), the parts of the ear are as follows. From the
outside in, the exterior ear is the pinna and the external auditory canal 1. The eardrum separates the
outer ear from the middle ear, where the ossicles are 1. The ossicles are three small bones that are
called the malleus, incus, and stapes 1. Moving further in, the inner ear includes cochlea which
contains the nerves for hearing, the vestibule and the semicircular canals which has receptors for
balance ( Anatomy and Physiology of the Ear , 2017) 1. How does this process actually all work? To
summarize this process: sound waves enter the external auditory canal and travels down to the middle

Daft Punk Research Paper
The early days of EDM as concert attractions were off to an unsteady start with an audio/visual setup
consisting of little more than a few speakers and a film projector. Although, the shows changed and
matured with the genre, many point to Daft Punk s first appearance at the Coachella Valley Music and
Arts festival in Indio, California, in 2006 where the duo unveiled their now legendary pyramid as a
game changer. Manning a 24 foot tall aluminum pyramid of custom built supercomputers covered
with screens, Daft Punk created what many believe to be the best electronic show ever assembled, a
veritable LED infused honeycomb pulsing with music and purpose. The idea for the pyramid stage
setup came from Daft Punk s 2005 video for Technologic, which featured a little robot who chants the
song s lyrics which flash on a television monitor while sitting in a little red pyramid on a pyramid
themed stage where Bangalter and de Homem Christo are playing base guitars. The two thought it
would be funny to be perched in a larger pyramid in a crazy, tricked out show while trying to bring a
completely new and global experience to the audience. It was with that mindset that Daft Punk began

Calculus As A Part Of Modern Mathematics Education
Calculus (from Latin calculus, literally small pebble used for counting )[1] is the mathematical study
of change, in the same way that geometry is the study of shape and algebra is the study of operations
and their application to solving equations. It has two major branches, differential calculus (concerning
rates of change and slopes of curves),[2] and integral calculus (concerning accumulation of quantities
and the areas under and between curves);[3] these two branches are related to each other by the
fundamental theorem of calculus. Both branches make use of the fundamental notions of convergence
of infinite sequences and infinite series to a well defined limit. Generally, modern calculus is
considered to have been developed in the 17th century by Isaac Newton and Gottfried Leibniz. Today,
calculus has widespread uses in science, engineering and economics[4] and can solve many problems
that elementary algebra alone cannot.
Calculus is a part of modern mathematics education. A course in calculus is a gateway to other, more
advanced courses in mathematics devoted to the study of functions and limits, broadly called
mathematical analysis. Calculus has historically been called the calculus of infinitesimals , or
infinitesimal calculus . Calculus (plural calculi) is also used for naming some methods of calculation
or theories of computation, such as propositional calculus, calculus of variations, lambda calculus, and
process calculus.

Essay about My Definition of Success
Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.
Winston Churchill
Success is defined as the favorable termination of attempts or endeavors and the accomplishment of
one s goals. When I hear the word success, I think of my friend and my teacher, Mrs. Regina Kynes. I
consider her successful because she has a strong family, a favorable career, and she is the most
generous person that I know. Mrs. Kynes is respected and admired by those who see her as successful.
As a successful person, she has to overcome challenging circumstances, but the advice she has
received helps her deal with her obstacles, and because of her challenges, she has been able to provide
advice to help others with the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She strives to divide her time between her family and her job, which helps her achieve balance in her
life. Sometimes, however, there are difficult people and challenging situations that come up in life that
can bring her down.
Kynes deals with challenging people and situations by taking the high road. She does what is right,
both morally and ethically, and when people start to frustrate her, she still acts respectfully towards
them. As she is being kind, to those frustrating people, she thinks, [I hope] that my actions and
reactions will influence them to make better choices, which goes back to advice her mother has given
her.
Kynes admits that the best advice she has ever received is from her mother: Always take the high road,
and Kill them with kindness, no matter who they are or what they have done. Kynes continues to
follow this advice to this day. Kynes added that what she takes away from her mother s advice is,
When you give to others, you will someday be rewarded. Pay it forward. Kynes has gained wisdom
from her mother, and she has continued to pass wisdom to others. Kynes s advice to others is Always
be yourself, love yourself first, do what is right ... all of the time, treat others with respect, love and
kindness, to lend a helping hand to those in need, and to work hard because things are free and your
work ethic shows great character!
This advice has undoubtedly been passed on to many of Kynes s students throughout

An Advertisement On Interest And Entertainment Websites Essay
This paper will focus on advertisements that are strategically placed on interest /entertainment and
companies websites. The goal of these advertisements is to trigger problem recognition. I will further
explain how each advertisement chosen was placed there to trigger a problem that needed to be
solved.
General Interest / Entertainment Web Site
The two entertainment websites I found trigger problem recognition advertisements on are people.com
and foxnews.com. Both advertisements were very well placed and focused on saving money, everyone
can always learn more ways to make their financial situations better. On people.com there was an
advertisement that encourages opening an American express account. On foxnews.com there was an
advertisement encouraging viewers to save one hundred dollars at Best Buy for a Dell computer.
Web Site Chosen
I choose to discuss how American Express advertisement was strategically placed on people.com. The
advertisement is encouraging people to have an account through American Express. This
advertisement is a trigger because some people look to celebrities for their fashion guidance, idolizing
their images. This means they go to any extreme to make a purchase and that includes taking on credit
to make it happen.
The trigger of the advertisement is the possible need for money the browser may have.
A person can be on the site looking at some shoes a celebrity is wearing, valued at nine hundred
dollars. An impulsive shopper may see the said

News Programs Bias And Political Party
A news programs bias and political party standings can effect what types of propaganda they show of
certain candidates. For example, FOX news is a strictly Republican news channel, it supports
Republican candidate, meanwhile news channels such as MSNBC and PBS are extremely democratic
programs and support Democratic candidates in elections. News programs political bias can affect the
way that particular program portrays a candidate for an upcoming election and a candidate s portrayal
can change a voter s opinion of a candidate and can cause that candidate to lose viewers votes. The
broadcasting of malicious rumors and gossip in any form by news programs gives a negative
conception to a viewer. No viewer wants to vote for a candidate that is portrayed in a way that makes
the viewer believe that they are bad for the country. Every viewer needs to take in to consideration the
political bias of a news program before changing his or her opinion of a candidate as well as do some
research on the candidates of an election themselves.
Lastly, the dramatization by news programs today produces a glamorization of crime. News stories on
crimes are extremely popular due to the fact audiences remembers bad news much easier than good
news. Take history for example, much of history is filled with recounts of gruesome murders, wars,
and scandals. An estimated 71 million viewers across the country tune in to their local news station s
broadcast (Yanich, 2004, p. 537). It can easily be

I. Abstract
The purpose of this water experiment is to compare two sources of waters and see if they would affect
the growth of beans. For the purpose of this test, multiple samples were implemented to gather results
with as much accuracy as possible. Every two days a study of our beans was conducted. Measuring
the growth/length of each bean. 40 samples were used. The team hypothesized that the water from
Foster Lake would grow plants faster than the water from Kanakadea Creek due to the bio diverse
nature of the lake and its inhabitants. The results gathered show a surprising find in this study.
II. Introduction
Water is the most natural thing we have on earth. It sustains many organisms and those organisms
depend on it almost daily. Plants are such organisms. For this study the focus is the growth of beans.
Over the course of two weeks my team and I conducted research comparing the two types of waters
that were selected and seeing if they had any significant differences in growing beans. The first week
was inconclusive due to bean rot and negligence. Test two led to a more constant observation of
growth and change of location. Results gathered from this experiment have shown a difference that
different waters may have on the growth of plants. Beans that consumed certain water sources

All The King s Men By Robert Penn Warren
Robert Penn Warren wrote All the King s Men to showcase the reality of political life in early
twentieth century. The reader is introduced to the narrator Jack Burden, a young political muckraker
for Willie Stark, governor of an unnamed Southern state in the 1930s. The novel is about Willie s rise
to importance and transformation from a modest lawyer to a fiery manipulator who uses corrupt
means in order to do well for the poor crowds of his state. It is also the story of Willie s downfall and
the complicated personal story of Jack as the latter comes to realize his responsibility for the world
around him. The insight that this book gives on politician life s can compare and contrast history

To begin, the theme of the visions of America is used to compare and constant history events. The
U.S. s history of slavery continues to trouble generations of Americans and impacts Americans view
of themselves. The book questions how a hopeful vision of America is possible with such a bad past.
For all the potential risks and outcomes of truth telling, only truth can give us hope for a great future
of America. By revealing issues dealing with the environment, education, labor, welfare, football,

Are the Children in Good Hands

ENGL 110C

Flaws in the System The requirements for foster parents are not adequate enough to ensure that the
children are in good hands. Foster care is when a child is provided with a temporary family life.
Children that are placed in foster care are neglected, abused, or removed due to extreme circumstances
that occur in the household. Social services play an important role on selecting the right foster parents
for the children. To become a foster parent there are many requirements and regulations necessary to
place the child in the right temporary custody. Some minimum requirements to become a foster parent

The only exception allowed should be if a twenty one year old wants to take in a biological brother or
sister. The risk of allowing younger adults to become foster parents is the short age difference. It s
very common for younger children to be attracted or have little crushes on younger adults close to
their age, but when younger adults are attracted to underage children, that s when the problem occur.
There are younger adults and older adults who want to become foster parents are not applying for the
financial gain or any other incentive but to sexually abuse a child. A single twenty four year old man
was indicted for raping one of his foster sons in 1995 (Incentives to Foster Parents). His sick
obsession with younger children drove him into becoming a foster parent solely to get his hands on
younger children. Not all younger foster parents are not like this man, but the age difference needs to
be raised to at least twenty seven to decrease the chance of something like that from happening again.
Increasing the age difference also ensures that the younger adults maturity level is higher. In Virginia,
prospective foster parents can t house over six children under the age of eighteen. With that many
children under one roof, the children are not getting enough one on one time with the foster parent.
The child would feel lost in the crowd, neglected, and not important. This requirement should be

The chief lighting technician of this crew, Chris Napolitano, had previously worked with Deakins on No Country for Old Men and True Grit. He remembered a favourite lighting solution to the lighting predicament and helped employ it for the shoot. This technique required clear, 60 watt globes to be put into large ring lights that are fitted with forty to sixty standard, medium base sockets. They would then install these light units around chandeliers that already exist in the mansion s ceilings. This technique was the perfect solution to Deakins problem because it helped create a soft pool of light around the existing fixtures and did not intrude on the space on the floor. Deakins wanted to shoot 360 degrees, which required an empty floor, so this solution was the best approach. The only time Deakins brought in floor lighting was to light the occasional ... Evaluation Of AnE File System Painters Case Study This is a thought provoking case study which, like most of the effort in Sociotechnical Theory, is concentrated on a certain type of production system , in this case an E File system. Socio Technical Theory is an intellectual model that helps us recognize patterns in the way technology is used. How well businesses can utilize this model can make or break the success or failure of an organization as they change the way they do business or introduce new technology to their workforce. In looking at the case study by Painter B he mentions the renovation of a paper method to an electronic E file system. Reasons standing behind these changes were noted; Claims from injured Delayed payment on claims Rising costs of disability benefits. According to Painter (NA), The Electronic Claim File system was customized for the assertion of reimbursement and compensation division of an insurance conglomerate, Workers Compensation Board (p.2). Conflicts Within AGroup And How A Manager Can Bring Up... Conflicts can happen in everyday life with people and in organizations. Conflicts need to be handled so that the situation does not escalate further. Most people look at conflicts as a bad situation, but not all conflicts are bad, some are good, especially when discussing an idea within a group. In an organization there are times when a conflict may need to happen for an issue to be resolved, but when this happens the people involved need to look at if this conflict is really necessary to resolve the issue. How to address conflicts in a group and how a manager can bring up the conflict without making them worse is what will be discussed next. At many jobs there are projects given that have to be completed in groups and they re more than likely is going to be people within the group that do not necessarily agree on how the project should be completed. This can cause a conflict to arise and to resolve this conflict requires all members of the group to have a say in the resolution. To ensure sufficient discussion of contentious issues in a work group, I would have one person be in charge of the group. This person would make sure that everyone had a turn to give their input and I would make it known to all the group members that what is said cannot be held against the person who says it. When managers need to bring up unspoken conflicts into the open without making them worse, it may be best to have a third party present that can ensure that the issue is addressed ... Did Christianity ChangeOver Time Christianity is far from what many might call a perfect and successful religion. Saying that it has been completely accepted, unchanged, and resolute since the beginning of the A.D. times would be false. Events like the murder of Christians within the gladiator games of the Roman Circus and the need to create the Edict of Milan show this clearly. Not only this but it has changed over time, as shown with the events of the Iconoclast Controversy between the Roman Orthodox and Catholic churches when differences in what should be allowed within the Christian worship. In the second half of this book, the reader sees how Cath s relationship with her twin sister, Wren, is on unstable grounds. The sisters differing personalities and different opinions on what college life should be about, causes this rift between them. Cath s relationship with her mother begins to change also. Cath resents her mother because her mother left when she was eight. An example of the foreshadowing of the breakdown is Cath s father calling Cath sporadically. Often times, he would call Cath with unhinged ideas, seeking her opinion. He would also call Cath at bizarre times of the day, or he would go days without calling. One of the ideas he called Cath with was having a slide go down from her room to the bathroom. These details help to foreshadow to a possible mental crisis. The reader can also see foreshadowing for a mental breakdown in Cath s father s self care. Cath has to call him and remind him to eat healthy meals. When she does not call he eats pizza, does not do laundry, and overworks. When Cath goes to see her father, she sees empty pizza boxes and piles of laundry littering the floor. Cath s father s worsening standards of hygiene foreshadowed to a mental breakdown later in the book. Another evaluation I made is that the author wrote Levi as a foil to Cath. An example of Levi and Cath s contrasting characteristics is their reading habits. Levi dislikes reading because he feels like when he reads his eyes take in information but his brain does not understand. On the other hand, Cath is very passionate about reading. For someone recently introduced to Android science fiction, I found the book very thought provoking. Yes, there is some scientific bit to keep the reader interested, though I have mixed feelings about the same; since on one hand people looking for pure science fiction might be disappointed while the newly initiated would find the facts quite easy to grasp. However, what really impressed me was the slightly philosophical and emotional quota in the book. The author intelligently introduces plot twists to explore the question of how would an android construct its identity. Since, the android is essentially built of metal and wires, is it right to assume that it is non living, even though it is made to resemble human life as closely as possible. The story goes a step further, and compares an android s existence to that of a slave, who is also at times subject to molestation, because an android can t complain, can ... Disadvantages Of Narcissism Asthey were in middle class, which was higher class than what my siblings and I were at, I wondered if this would apply to them. With my experience, I believe it would since they were of higher class than us and those narcissists would be boastful about accomplishments and possessions. Here, some readers may be saying that social class does not necessarily cause one to be narcissistic. I am not saying that not all those of higher class are narcissists, but rather that it can put them for a higher risk of becoming narcissistic. Other factors, such as social media and parenting, could also contribute to one becoming narcissistic. Going along with the factor of parenting, the question of how that family would behave with each other had come up. I have already seen how they could treat others outside of their family, whether it be to put on a different face before their true colors leek out after getting to know them. From what I have seen and heard, they tend to have a golden child and a sort of scapegoat. In the article, The Strength of the Scapegoat in the Narcissist Family, Julie Hall, a contributing writer for the Huffington Post, describes a scapegoat as ...the narcissist s go to projection screen for his abusive behavior and his trash receptacle for blame and rage (2017, para. 3). The Effect OfAngular Momentum On Classical Mechanics INTRODUCTION We know the importance of Angular Momentum in Classical Mechanics; the total angular momentum of an isolated physical system is a constant of the motion. For example, if a point particle P, of mass m, is moving in a central potential (one which depends only on the distance between P and a fixed point O), the force to which P is subjected is always directed towards O. Its moment with respect to O is consequently zero, and the angular momentum theorem implies that derivative of L (Angular momentum of P with respect to O) with respect to time is zero. This fact has important consequences: the motion of the particle P is limited to a fixed plane (the plane passing through O and perpendicular to the angular momentum L); moreover, this motion obeys the law of constant areal velocity (Kepler s Second Law). All these properties have their equivalents in Quantum Mechanics. With the angular momentum L of a classical system is associated with an observable L, actually a set of three observables, Lx, Ly, and Lz, which correspond to the three components of L in a Cartesian Frame. These three observables commute with the Hamiltonian H for a particle in the central potential V(r). This property simplifies the determination and classification of eigenstates of H. Quantization of Angular Momentum: the component, along a fixed axis, of the intrinsic angular momenta are quantized, which enables us to understand atomic magnetism, the Zeeman Effect, etc. We shall denote by ... In 1904, thirteen year old Zora was devastated by the death of her mother. Later that same year, her unaffectionate father removed her from school and sent her to care for her brother s children. There are many open questions about how the bible functions as an authority for normative ethical judgments. We cannot ease ourselves of the obligation for moral decision by engaging to the plain sense of single proof text, but on the flip side, should we feel constrained to pressure Paul, through exegetical scowls, to verbalize what we cerebrate he ought to have verbalized. Biomass As ARenewable Energy Resource 3 Biomass as a renewable energy resource Biomass can be considered as a renewable energy resource, although burning biomass releases carbon dioxide (CO2) to the atmosphere similar to burning fossil fuel (Liu H. 2011). There is a significant difference in CO2 release between burning a fossil fuel and burning biomass. Burning a fossil fuel releases CO2 that has been locked up for millions of years in the ground, affecting the natural CO2 cycle and resulting in an increase in the CO2 concentration in the atmosphere. Burning biomass simply return to the atmosphere the same amount of CO2 which was absorbed from the air via the photosynthesis process while the biomass plant was growing over a relatively short period of time (a few years to decade), and there is no net release of C02 into the atmosphere, i.e., CO2 neutral, if the cycle of growth and harvest is sustained. Therefore, biomass can consider as a renewable energy resource as shown in Figure 3.1 (Li u H. 2011). If the production and transportation of the biomass fuel involve the use of fossil fuel, there would become net release of CO2 with biomass combustion (Liu H. 2011) Figure 3.1 Biomass is a renewable energy resource (Liu H. 20 11) In fact, real biomass energy production systems are differing from the ideal carbon cycle shown in Figure 3.1 in two important ways. Those of us who had the good fortune of working for President Reagan witnessed firsthand the effective management style of an unusually successful chief executive. Here are 10 lessons that I learned from observing him in action. Lesson 1: Set Clear and Attainable Objectives, albeit Goals that Seem Difficult to Achieve. His explanation for that strange action was that there had to be a pony in it somewhere. But usually the president s purpose for telling a humorous tale was very serious. He was always too polite to tell some boring person to shut up. Rather, he preferred to interrupt by telling a story. When he finished, the discussion would quickly shift to a new subject. The Evolution OfThe Accounting Profession Discussion Board 1: Case 1 5: The Evolution of the Accounting Profession Throughout history the accounting profession has seen continuous growth. It has even been discovered that an elaborate accounting system was utilized as early as 8000 to 3000 B.C. (Schroeder, Clark, Cathey, 2014). Humans have deemed it necessary for centuries to account for money and inventory items. In the nineteenth century, the accounting profession took another major step forward when the joint ventures evolved into corporations in England resulting in stockholders needing financial records reflecting the companies performance (Schroeder et. al, 2014). This emergence of corporations brought about the need for reporting on a periodic basis in order to allow owners and prospective stockholders to evaluate the company to determine if their investments, or potential investments, yielded a return (Schroeder et. al, 2014). The evolution of these corporations brought about the need for accounting standards and laws that would that protect the investment of shareholders, require that dividends be paid from net gains, and require that audits be conducted by people other than the directors of the organization(s) (Schroeder et. al, 2014). These changes in the nineteenth century led the charge in the development for accounting standards and laws that we still follow today, and they are constantly evolving and improving in order to protect investors from scandal and fraud. Archetypes In TheCollective Unconscious Looking at the concept of archetypes in the collective unconscious is helpful in understanding the history of human beings as well as an individual s personal history. In every being there exists two psychic systems. The personal unconscious and the collective unconscious. The personal unconscious is unique to each individual. It consists of a collection of forgotten or repressed experiences and memories that at one point were present in the conscious thoughts of the individual being. These repressed experiences are referred to as complexes. A complex is the way one remembers and connects meanings to various archetypes or symbols. Split Sisters andSplit Personalities of Goblin Market Essay Split Sisters and Split Personalities of Goblin Market I have 50 different personalities, and still I m lonely (Amos). Perhaps everyone is truly composed of multiple personalities embodied within one whole. Whether these split personalities are actual or purely metaphorical, no one human being has a single sided mind, and a single sided position on everything. Within the brain many battles are raged between opposing sides of issues, between the personalities. Goblin Market is one of Christina Rosetti s sister poems, a form in which she used sisters to represent different aspects of the split personality that was caused by conflicting attitudes and mixed emotions towards love (Bellas 66). The initial impression is of modesty from the act of bowing her head, yet a curiosity is displayed because she bows her head to hear. Lizzie then tells Laura that she should not peep at goblin men. This warning seems parroted in response. A lesson told by someone that the conservative Lizzie does not question. Despite this warning Laura rear[s] her glossy head to look. Ear Riddle The riddlestars off simple: Does a tree, if it falls, make a sound if no one is around? The answer to this riddle is no, but this is incorrect. Before going into why this is incorrect, one needs to understand what would take place if someone did hear a tree fall. The auditory process is a complex system of fluid, bones, and receptors that transform sound waves into discernible auditory messages to our brain. Taken from the Stanford s Children s Health (2017), the parts of the ear are as follows. From the outside in, the exterior ear is the pinna and the external auditory canal 1. The eardrum separates the outer ear from the middle ear, where the ossicles are 1. The ossicles are three small bones that are called the malleus, incus, and stapes 1. Moving further in, the inner ear includes cochlea which contains the nerves for hearing, the vestibule and the semicircular canals which has receptors for balance ( Anatomy and Physiology of the Ear , 2017) 1. Although, the shows changed and matured with the genre, many point to Daft Punk s first appearance at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts festival in Indio, California, in 2006 where the duo unveiled their now legendary pyramid as a game changer. Manning a 24 foot tall aluminum pyramid of custom built supercomputers covered with screens, Daft Punk created what many believe to be the best electronic show ever assembled, a veritable LED infused honeycomb pulsing with music and purpose. The idea for the pyramid stage setup came from Daft Punk s 2005 video for Technologic, which featured a little robot who chants the song s lyrics which flash on a television monitor while sitting in a little red pyramid on a pyramid themed stage where Bangalter and de Homem Christo are playing base guitars. Calculus As APart Of Modern Mathematics Education Calculus (from Latin calculus, literally small pebble used for counting )[1] is the mathematical study of change, in the same way that geometry is the study of shape and algebra is the study of operations and their application to solving equations. It has two major branches, differential calculus (concerning rates of change and slopes of curves),[2] and integral calculus (concerning accumulation of quantities and the areas under and between curves);[3] these two branches are related to each other by the fundamental theorem of calculus. Both branches make use of the fundamental notions of convergence of infinite sequences and infinite series to a well defined limit. Generally, modern calculus is considered to have been developed in the 17th century by Isaac Newton and Gottfried Leibniz. Today, calculus has widespread uses in science, engineering and economics[4] and can solve many problems that elementary algebra alone cannot. Calculus is a part of modern mathematics education. A course in calculus is a gateway to other, more advanced courses in mathematics devoted to the study of functions and limits, broadly called mathematical analysis. Calculus has historically been called the calculus of infinitesimals , or infinitesimal calculus . Calculus (plural calculi) is also used for naming some methods of calculation or theories of computation, such as propositional calculus, calculus of variations, lambda calculus, and process calculus. News Programs BiasAnd Political Party A news programs bias and political party standings can effect what types of propaganda they show of certain candidates. For example, FOX news is a strictly Republican news channel, it supports Republican candidate, meanwhile news channels such as MSNBC and PBS are extremely democratic programs and support Democratic candidates in elections. News programs political bias can affect the way that particular program portrays a candidate for an upcoming election and a candidate s portrayal can change a voter s opinion of a candidate and can cause that candidate to lose viewers votes. The broadcasting of malicious rumors and gossip in any form by news programs gives a negative conception to a viewer. No viewer wants to vote for a candidate that is portrayed in a way that makes the viewer believe that they are bad for the country. Every viewer needs to take in to consideration the political bias of a news program before changing his or her opinion of a candidate as well as do some research on the candidates of an election themselves. Lastly, the dramatization by news programs today produces a glamorization of crime. News stories on crimes are extremely popular due to the fact audiences remembers bad news much easier than good news.
