The Work Of The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is God (At. 5:3-4) He is the third person in the Godhead (Jn.14:16) As a part of the Godhead, we must learn of what is the Holy Spirit work in the Gods plan of salvation to all mankind.

The Work Of The Holy Spirit In Gods Creation Holy Spirit work in creation of the world: “ ..the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.” (Gn.1:2) “ Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created: and thou renewest the face of the earth.” (Ps.104:30) Holy Spirit work in creation of the heavens: “ By his spirit he hath garnished the heavens;.” (Jb.26:13) “… And all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.” (Ps.33:6) Holy Spirit work in creation of man: In first man (Gn.1:26-27) In every man (Jb.33:4)

Holy Spirit Work In Gods Word Revelation He revealed all deep things of God to have the will of God spoken , known and written (1 Co.2:10-13) “ ..He will guide the apostles into all truth.” (Jn.16:13) Apostles receive power when the Holy Spirit come upon them (At.1:8) Holy Spirit came upon them on pentecost (At.2:1-4) Apostles preached the gospel by the guidance of the Holy Spirit (At.2:4-24) The apostles and prophets writes and spake by moved of Holy Spirit (Ep.3:3-5; 2 Pt.1:20-21)

“ All scripture is given by inspiration of God…” (2 Tm.3:16-17) “ Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall fail , none shall want her mate : for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them.” (Is.34:16) God’s revelation by Holy Spirit was already “written in this book..” (Rv.22:18-19)

Holy Spirit Work In Gods Word Confirmation Holy Spirit worked with Christ to confirm his work (Mt.3:16; 4:1; 12:28; Lk.4:1,14,18,21; Jn.3:34) Holy Spirit confirmed the apostles message by his given gifts (Hb.2:3-4) Apostles receive power when the Holy Spirit come upon them (At.1:1-8; Mk.16:14-20; Lk.24:47-49) Holy Spirit came upon them on pentecost (At.2:1-4) Apostles message confirmed by the miraculous gifts of the Holy Spirit (At.2:4-24; Gw.5:12; Hb.2:3-4) The gifts of the Holy Spirit was given only by the laying hands of the apostles (At.8:12-18) This miraculous gifts of the Holy Spirit to confirm the Gods word was ceased (1 Co.13:8-13 Cf. Jm.1:22-25) The Gods word [i.e the Bible] was already confirm and complete (2 Tm.3:16-17; Rv.22:18-19)

Holy Spirit Work In Conviction The World Of Sin Holy Spirit will come to reprove the world of sin (Jn.16:7-8) Paul says , ”.. I had not known sin , but by the law.” (Rm.7:7). “.. for by the law is the knowledge of sin .” (Rm.3:20 Cf. 1 Jn.3:4) When the Holy Spirit came to the apostles he give them utterance (At.2:4) Apostles preached the gospel (At.2:22-24,36) “ Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart ,..” (At.2:37 Cf. Hb.4:12; Ep.6:17) Holy Spirit says, “..all have sinned” (Rm.3:23). For the wages of sin is death (Rm.6:23 Cf. Rv.21:8) The Gospel is the power of God unto salvation (Rm.1:16) but by the gospel also we shall judge in the last day (Jn.12:48; Rm.2:16)

Holy Spirit Work In Regeneration Apostles said by Holy Spirit utterance (At.2:4), “… Save yourselves from this untoward generation .” (At.2:40) Jesus said, “..Ye must be born again.” (Jn.3:7). The two things needed to be born again (Jn.3:3,5): Born of water – i.e. water baptism (Tt.3:5; Ep.5:26) Born of Spirit – i.e. renewing of the Holy Ghost (Tt.3:5; Ep.5:26) When we “..receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.” (Jm.1:21) Apostles preached the gospel by Holy Spirit (At.2:4,14-24,36). “Then they that gladly received his word were baptized :.” (At.2:41) They received [obeyed] Gods word [gospel] through baptism in conjunction with the indwelling of the Holy Spirit (At.2:38; Ep.1:13; Gl.6:7-9; Jn.14:17)

Holy Spirit Work In Sanctification Holy Spirit work by the Gods word (Jn.16:13) Gods word is truth that sanctify us (Jn.17:17) Holy Spirit sanctify us by obeying the gospel of truth (2 Th.2:13-14 Cf. 1 Pt.1:22) Sanctification began in conjunction with our washing and justification (1 Co.6:11; Ep.5:26) Holy Spirit will continue sanctify us if we will continue to obey the Gods word or walk in the Spirit not in flesh (Rm.8:11-13; Gl.5:16-18)

Some Other Works Of The Holy Spirit Holy Spirit strengthens – “… to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;” (Ep.3:16) Holy Spirit comforts – “…and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost.” (At.9:31) Holy Spirit leads – “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.” (Rm.8:14) The Christian is sealed by the Holy Spirit – “…ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,” (Ep.1:13)

Conclusion Maybe there are some more in the scriptures tells us the work of the Holy Spirit but all of this we learned that the Holy Spirit have a very important role does and done according the Gods plan of salvation to all mankind. Let us respect the Holy Spirit’s work by obeying the Gods word revealed and confirmed by him (At.7:51-53)

Conclusion “ Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men . And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him , neither in this world, neither in the world to come.” (Mt.12:31-32). Holy Spirit say by apostles preaching, “..Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins , and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” (At.2:38)
