The story is about a boy named Jorgito who becomes very angry at his friend Pedrito for humiliating him in front of his friends. Jorgito tells his father that he wants bad things to happen to Pedrito and even wants him to get sick. His father takes Jorgito to the garden and has him throw pieces of coal at a white shirt hanging on the clothesline, representing throwing bad thoughts at Pedrito. After Jorgito tires himself out throwing coal, his father shows him that he has gotten completely covered in coal from the bad thoughts. The father explains that the bad thoughts Jorgito wished on Pedrito instead came back to dirty him. He teaches Jorgito to be careful of his thoughts

- 3. One day Jorgitocame home and he began to kick and scream on the floor. He was very angry. His father called him. Jorgito spoke angrily, saying, “Papa, I swear I am very angry! Pedrito should not have done what he did. So, I wish him all the worst. I would like to kill him!”
- 4. His father, asimple mam, but full of wisdom, listened quietly to the child who kept saying, “ Pedrito humiliated me in front of my friends. I do not accept that! ... I wish he would get sick so he can not go to school.”

- 6. “ Do yousee that white shirt that is on the line? Think that it is Pedrito and every piece of coal that is in this bag is a bad thought directed at him. Throw the coal that is in the bag until it is all gone. Then I will return to see how it was.”
- 7. The child tookit as a game and started throwing the coals but the clothesline was far so only a few of them reached the shirt.
- 8. When the fatherreturned he asked him, “ Son how do you feel?” “ Tired but happy. I hit some pieces of coal on the shirt.”
- 9. The father tookthe child´s hand and said, “ Come with me I want to show you something.” He put him in front of a mirror that allowed him to see his entire body. What a shock! It was black and all that could be seen were teeth and eyes!
- 10. At that timethe father said, “ Son, as you can see the shirt was a little dirty, but it is not comparable to how dirty you got. The evil that we wish on others returns and increases in us. As much as we want to disrupt someone's life with our thoughts, debris and dirt is always in ourselves”.
