A N A L Y S I S
The proposed site bring a few potential to derive into a strategic urban setup with
located at the commercial area that has been surrounded with the residential,
recreational and public services building. With some proper improvement of social
and community formation, this location could have a huge potential to be one of
smart urban place.
S Y N T H E S I S
Interaction between community and spaces could be lead by the proper planning of
the street zone in order to give an introduction vibe especially for the center area of
section 14 where there is a focal point for community to get a quality social life. Some
urban intervention and proposal will be located and 6 places that has been a linkage
of path from another section and zone to our proposed site and zone which is a
commercial and services zone.

ARCHITECTURAL PATTERNS
ISTANA BUDAYA
“Palace of Culture”
Built; 1995 (Architect Muhammad
Kamar Ya’akub) inspiration of
moon kite.
BANGUNAN PENTADBIRAN ISTANA BUDAYA
• Ornaments used are similar
to Malay traditional house
Sirih Junjung inspired roof shape (traditional
arrangement or a present made of betel leaves
used during Malay weddings). Serambi, rumah
ibu, rumah dapur layout.
Building design is based on the Malay
headgear of ‘tengkolok’ which is a
symbol of intellectual pride and respect
in Malay culture
This building act as administrative unit to Istana
Budaya. It manage all the cultural arts activities and
arts activities like dance and traditional music.

ARCHITECTURAL PATTERNS
NATIONAL ART GALLERY STADIUM TITIWANGSA
• Architectural style of this building similar to Istana
Budaya, it is a blend of slate, tinted glass and clean
modern lines with traditional Malay design
prominent in the form of a light blue origami-style
metallic roof.
• Roof shape similar with others building to represent Malay
Treditional house and bring it on modern building
• This building used traditional idea for design and combined
with modern activities inside building
• The stadium Tititwangsa
is an indoor arena while

• Car parks on one way road makes it
narrow, dangerous for pedestrians
• Abundance of signage, but very few on
information and location, really hard to
locate entrances
SOLUTIONS
• Consider to provide proper pedestrian
pathing along Jalan Tembeling
providing proper and easy access
• Provide a dedicated parking area near
the park, a multi-storey parking
