Merging Cells on Excel
• I needed to merge the cells that are now painted grey,
because I needed to add a break in my plan, therefore,
I used the “Merge & Center” Button
Questionnaire
I inserted a table so that my potential target audience can tick what
option they prefer. this make the data much easier for me to handle
I want my questionnaire to look very organised and easy to read, therefore, I
didn’t want as much space for tick boxes. So, I have instead used the
symbol for tick boxes, to help my questionnaire look very neat.
Questionnaire Results
To be able to represent the percentages of my results from my questionnaire,
I used graphs. These are much more helpful than writing the answers e.g.
tally’s, because these help visually.
Lightening and contrasting
• This is in the
enhance section,
where you click on
the brightness and
contrast.
Adding glow
• On photoshop
there is a guide
button, which
allows you to
access the glow

Changing Background Colour
• I firstly used the
quick selection
tool, then pressed
“Ctrl + U” which
then allows you to
change the colour
of the background

• I had to firstly select the part of the image I wanted
to change (background), and then dragged the
chrome effect on to the selected part.
Adding Text boxes
• I used text boxes to be able to write in certain
places on the page. I used text boxes on both
word documents and photoshop documents
Masthead
Enhancing the “V”
• I selected the V with the “magic wand”, which highlighted
it. Then I clicked on “stroke (outline) selection”, where I was
able to fill the V with a pastel pink colour
Creating the Barcode
• I created the barcode by using normal lines, but just
changing the sizes of the different lines, to create a barcode
Shadows
• Once I added the effects of the shadows, I then
clicked on the effect sign, so I could change the
size, distance and opacity of the shadow
Burn Tool
• I have used the burn tool to darken the eye-
lashes and eye-brows, because they were
slightly faint, as I had lightened the image
Double Page Spread
blur
I quick selected the part of the image I wanted to blur, then
used the “Gaussian Blur” to smoothly blur the background
Brightness and Contrast the
background
• Firstly, I used the quick selection tool to to select
the background. Then I used the brightening and
contrast tools to adjust the picture’s lighting
Transparent boxes
• First, I used a normal box shape, and made it
white. Then I used the opacity effect, and
made it 44%, to create a transparent
background for the body text
Effects on text
• I couldn’t find the corret colour for my article title, so I used the effect-
“differences”, which changes the colour on different parts of the text, to
contrast the colour from the background. Hence the reason why there is
many different colours on the text
Drop Cap’s On Publisher
• I inserted the drop caps from publishers drop cap
buttons
Brush effects
• I used the bursh swirls and seeds, to create a
flower effect, to be able to relate to my target
audeicne who are mianly teenage girls
Photoshop content
• I wanted to create elegance to my double page spread, so I have added
different types of frames from the content section in photoshop
Paint Brush Patterns
• I needed to add more colour to my double page spread, as there was too
many shades of pink, so I decided to add colour through using paint brush
patterns
White Brush
Brush for Eye Shadow
• I Used a normal brush with a light gold tint, but I changed the
opacity to 12% to suite my models skin complexion

• I used a line tool and ellipse tool, to create music

Magnetic lasso Tool
• After slightly rotating the picture to the angle the frame is at. I then
used the magnetic lasso tool, to then cut out the part of the picture
that was sticking out of the frame, so that I could create the effect
that the picture is a part of the frame

Cropping
Because I want to advertise Make-up, I needed a close up of the face, therefore I
used the crop tool
Smudge
The texture from the sheet in the background was very wrinkly, therefore I used
the smudge tool to blend it in the background, to make a smooth texture

Magnetic lasso Tool
• To be able to cut the perfume bottle out of this picture on the left, I
used the magnetic lasso tool. This helped me to cut out the
perfume bottle from the picture, as it selects the bottle from it’s
outline

a certain feature on

Publisher
• I used Publisher to put my final magazine together. This is because, it has many
different formats, for example, newsletter, flyer, etc…. Plus, you can publish my file
into a PDF, in a magazine/book format, to upload to my blog.
Weebly
• I used Weebly as my blog, as I found it the easiest to work with in
terms of uploading documents. It also creates a presentable format
when I upload my files.
Photoshop
• Photoshop is a key software programme that I have used to help
me design my magazine. I have used a range of tools to create
effects, resize, etc…. To produce my music magazine.
Microsoft PowerPoint
• I used Microsoft PowerPoint for files like my planning, for the
magazine sections e.g. drafts and planning for the photoshoot. This
is because, I wanted my them to be a in presentation format e.g.
explaining how I would use (x) photo, and use (y) lighting.
Microsoft Word
• I mainly used Microsoft word for my analysis of the magazine sections e.g. Table of
contents, front cover. As I have put my analysis around the pictures, and in an
essay based format, so Microsoft word was much easier to use for this.
Excel
• This I used for transferring data from my questionnaires to my
computer. This helps me to set the data out in a neat and clear way,
so that I can create pie charts to analyse them.
Issuu
• I used Issuu for my Microsoft word files, as they are changed into a
book/magazine format, which makes it much more easier to read,
and more presentable
Slideshare
• I used Slideshare, to upload any work that was in Microsoft
PowerPoint, as it uploads it in the format of a book/magazine.

YouTube
• I used YouTube to upload my mood boards and
typography mood boards, because I felt it was easier
for me to gain inspiration in the form of a movie
Movie Maker
• Movie maker has helped me to create my mood boards, where I have used
different effects from this software to make my mood board appeal to me,
