  Film title ■ Wechose the film title ‘Beyond Conscience’.Conscience is our own ability to judge between the right and the wrong. It is an awareness of morality in regard to one's behavior; a sense of right and wrong that urges one to act morally within our actions. ■ As our main theme is death and murder we chose this title as our killer has no conscience.And cannot decipher between right and wrong. However it is beyond her natural conscience as when she performs these acts she is not aware she is doing it. ■ The title as a whole re-enforces that Riley isn’t able to control her moral compass and her actions are far beyond her conscience.

  Length of ourfilm ■ Our film is 5-6 minuets long. ■ Short films can be anywhere between 1 minute and 25 minutes. Short films are normally quite indie and independent. ■ We felt like the time of 5 minutes was enough time to tell our story to the best of our abilities. If it was any longer it may have been boring or any shorter and we may not have been able to get the story across.

  Target audience ■ Ourtarget audience is aimed at mature teens, possibly people in their late 20’s and early 30’s.These people must have a taste for independent films with a strong message. Our film contains a strong message based on a young woman with mental issues. If you were to show this film to someone who doesn’t understand the issues of mental health they probably wouldn’t enjoy our film.We understand our film will probably have a very unique target audience, however we are ok with that as we felt like our film is an important film and portrays the key themes or friendship and death as key aspects of life.

  Certificate ■ We choseour film to be a 12A ■ The film will feature a freighting figure that could be threating to a younger audience and will display behavior that could be seen a scary and upsetting. There will also be use of psychological threat as the character will experience episodes within the film that could be seen as disturbing,. Why it is not a 15 is that it won’t feature a huge amount of violence or threat that will be hugely unacceptable. ■ BBFC 12A definition: Films classified 12A and video works classified 12 contain material that is not generally suitable for children aged under 12. No one younger than 12 may see a 12A film in a cinema unless accompanied by an adult. Adults planning to take a child under 12 to view a 12A film should consider whether the film is suitable for that child.To help them decide, we recommend that they check the BBFCinsight for that film in advance. No one younger than 12 may rent or buy a 12 rated video work. ■ There may be moderate violence but it should not dwell on detail. There should be no emphasis on injuries or blood, but occasional gory moments may be permitted if justified by the context. Sexual violence may only be implied or briefly and discreetly indicated, and its depiction must be justified by context. ■ There may be moderate physical and psychological threat and horror sequences. Although some scenes may be disturbing, the overall tone should not be. Horror sequences should not be frequent or sustained. ■ No promotion of potentially dangerous behaviour which children are likely to copy.   Synopsis With no memoryof the previous day, Riley King must piece together her every step from morning till night. She's faced this problem of recollection for five years now, her best friend Hayden Broomfield leaving her notes on what she did throughout her day. For months now when Riley relays her days to Hayden, he notices that there's always a few hours missing from her day. But when Hayden finally has the chance to ask it's too late and once again Riley's memory is gone.Things take a turn when a murder takes place in the area and the suspicion falls on Riley. In attempts to clear his best friends name Hayden spends a whole 24 hours with Riley to prove her innocence; if he can. ■ BeginningThe story starts with the crime scene.There are flashes of the murder; the camera covering everything aspect except the killer.The scene then cuts to Riley waking up in bed with her usual note from Hayden. She reads over the day, not thinking anything of the missing hours. Riley goes about her day while subtle radio voiceovers play in the background informing the public of the murders. ■ Middle Finally remembering to confront Riley, Hayden comes over to ask her if she had any idea where she could of gone.With no recollection whatsoever, Hayden plans to spend a whole 24 hours to ease his mind that she had nothing to do with the murder.Throughout the film the radio voiceovers get louder and louder.The audience sees snippets of their day up until 3pm when the final scene takes place in the park. ■ EndAfter a long establishing shot Hayden and Riley at the park. Hayden gets a text from someone wondering where he was; Riley seeing the text and realising that he was lying about his whereabouts the day before. Hayden begins to panic, Riley getting even more suspicious.Then Riley starts to get flashbacks from the day before; it turns out she was there to witness the murder.The audience then from Riley's recollection will believe it was Hayden. She tries to leave but Hayden begs her to stay so he can explain. He only manages to say 'it was an accident' to which Riley can't believe he's justifying murder. Just as Riley's about to call the police, Hayden will reveal that it was actually Riley.

  Suggested elements ■ Ourfilm is set in 2 main places.One of which is a park, it is a tranquil and peaceful park. However something bad happens there, creating a feeling opposite to the peaceful park. ■ It uses Levi Strauss Binary opposite theory e.g. good vs bad, rich vs poor, demon vs angel.Our main character Riley King represents the bad, where as her best friend Hayden Broomfield represents the good.They may have similar personalities yet represent the good and bad in people and society. ■ We want the audience to be encouraged to feel sympathetic toward Hayden as he has to keep this secret, and view Riley in a way that make her unlikeable to people.
