- 2. “Truly, Truly, Isay unto you” (or) “I tell you the truth” (or) “Verily I say unto thee” (or) "Amen, Amen I say to you" (or) "Most certainly I tell you“ (or) “Truly I tell you” All these phrases implies the same meaning and Many scholars have noticed that Jesus uses this as a prefix phrase when He is about to say something that should be listened to with care! Interestingly, no one but Jesus ever says it. We’re too used to hearing the phrase to appreciate the astonishing authority it expresses and the often solemn nature of the announcement that follows. In every one of the (nearly) 79 times (in New Testament, Bible) Jesus uses this introductory phrase, He simply says it and then makes a startling statement.

BE WATCHFUL & LOOKFORWARD TO JESUS’ 2ND COMING Truly I tell you, I don’t know you. “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour” - Matthew 25:12,13 It will be good for those servants whose master finds them watching when he comes. Truly I tell you, he will dress himself to serve, will have them recline at the table and will come and wait on them. It will be good for those servants whose master finds them ready, even if he comes in the middle of the night or toward daybreak - Luke 12:37,38
