Unit 15 – Print Based Advertising - Festival Poster
Project:
The Golden Hour
Project title: Festival Poster
Reasons behind the title inside this box (connotations)
I decided on this title for my festival poster because, the term ‘The Golden Hour’
implies that the public has the freedom in seeking enlightenment in the form of
music, art and technology.
I have chosen the title name as this will convey that my target audience can have
the opportunity of self-expression based on their creative personality, along with
being memorable, eye-catching and recognisable to the general public and to my
target audience.
Project Description:
Through this project of creating a festival poster (A3 size), I plan to taking close
up portrait photos that and experiment with different angles and perspectives
that could work for my print based media product.
I also plan to take images that involved the focal point of a prop that would
enhance the festival poster as well as link to my suggests to my colour scheme.
Photographer: Patrice Insua
❏ Who is it going to be?
I will be taking my own photographs of my brother (Brian Insua) where I will
take outdoor photos with a background scenery that would suit the summer
theme that my festival is aiming for. However, I have also taken a photograph of
my brother’s friends George and Ailsa and this image may be useful in my
magazine back page.
❏ Technical Codes - What shot types and Angles do they need and WHY?
I plan to experiment with a wide variety of angles that would suit my magazine
back page such as low angles to make the image appear more intimidating or
eye-level shots to give the representation of a straight-forward photograph.
❏ Lighting – High Key (Bright) or Low Key
By experimenting with the advantage of natural lighting, I will be able to
compare my photographs and see which image would work for my magazine
back page the most. Overall I am aiming for the use of low key images to give
dimension and create a dynamic feel.
❏ Post Production – Effects you intend to apply and WHY?
Intending to use the effects of sunset lighting to give the effect of a festival
summer feel through the sunset lighting on my model. I am aiming on capturing
the expression on the face and present the fashion style of the clothes.
