This document discusses the use of technology in clinical supervision. It begins by stating that as technology innovations increase, supervisors are using technologies like video conferencing, cloud sharing, and mobile devices in traditional and online supervision. The presentation will cover topics like current uses of technology, ethical issues, integrating technology purposefully, and supervisor and supervisee experiences, with a focus on the supervision relationship. It goes on to provide perspectives from supervisors on making sure supervision, not technology, drives the process, maintaining the working alliance even at a distance, and effectively communicating both synchronously and asynchronously. Concerns about not truly knowing supervisees without in-person meetings are also addressed.
