Grid-tied system
This system is synchronized with the utility supply mains at the distribution box. It uses an inverter
which has special provisions to match the grid supply using sensors and reduce the total power
consumption from grid.

This system is independent of the power grid. It has a battery bank to store excess electrical
energy generated during day time and utilize this energy during night time when solar energy is

This is a combination of both the on-grid and off-grid system, it is a grid connected solar
photovoltaic system with a provision for battery backup to store energy. This is useful for

CAPEX Model
In this finance model, the client or any entity approaches VEMC for installation of a Solar PV system
in the premises of the client. Once the plant is commissioned, its ownership transfers to the client and
the VEMC’s scope ends.
The advantages of this model include:
1. The client has complete ownership over the plant and its operation.
2. Client can reduce his electricity bills by sizable margins depending on the capacity of
Solar PV plant.
3. Client can avail CFA (Central Finance assistance) Subsidies and tax benefits from
Government bodies.
4. Client can complete his CSR and Renewable energy use and purchase obligations.
5. Client becomes partially immune to increasing Utility electricity prices.
OPEX Model
In this financial model, the complete project cost is financed by the investor and executed by
VEMC and the power generated is sold to client. The Client enters into a long-term contract
(typically referred to as the PPA) to purchase 100% of the Electricity generated by the system.
The advantages of this model include:
1 Clients consumes Electricity at a discounted price
2 No investment from Client side.
3 VEMC will manage the permits, construction, maintenance and operations of the system.
4 Client can meet his Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) at no additional cost.
Net Metering
Net metering is a billing mechanism that credits solar energy system owners for the electricity they
add to the grid. It allows Utility power consumers who generate some or all of their own electricity
to use at anytime, instead of when it is generated allowing the consumers to give extra solar power
in to the grid when their demands for power are met and recover the grid injected energy whenever
their generation from solar system is low. This system enables the consumer to achieve substantial
reduction in the electricity bill (The bill could be as low as zero in some cases).

Components
PV Modules
VEMC offers Monocrystalline PV modules & Polycrystalline PV modules.
Monocrystalline PV modules
Monocrystalline solar panels use single-crystal silicon. Because the cell is composed of a single crystal,
the electrons that generate a flow of electricity have more room to move. As a result, monocrystalline
panels are more efficient than their polycrystalline counterparts.
Polycrystalline PV modules
Polycrystalline solar panels are also made from silicon. However, instead of using a single crystal of
silicon, manufacturers melt many fragments of silicon together to form the wafers for the panel.. Because
there are many crystals in each cell, there is to less freedom for the electrons to move. As a result,
polycrystalline solar panels have lower efficiency ratings than monocrystalline panels.
On an average the Polycrystalline Modules give slightly better ROI when compared to Monocrystalline
PV modules due to their comparatively lower costs and similar electricity generation.

Inverters
Solar Power inverter is the heart of any Solar Power plant. Solar power inverters have
special functions adapted for use with photovoltaic arrays other than DC to AC power
conversion, like maximum power point tracking, System monitoring and anti-islanding
protection.
VEMC provides below Solar inverters types:
Stand-alone inverters
Stand alone inverters are used in isolated systems where the inverter draws its DC energy
from batteries charged by photovoltaic arrays.
Grid-tie inverters
Grid tie inverters are designed to operate in Synchronism with the Utility grid. They are
designed to shut down automatically upon loss of utility supply, for safety reasons. Solar grid
tie inverters are used for net metering purposes.
Hybrid inverters
Hybrid inverters are designed to draw energy from a battery, manage the battery charge via
an onboard charger, and export excess energy to the utility grid. This is a combination of
both standalone and Grid-tie inverters and can be used for net metering purposes.

Cables
Solar cable is the interconnection cable used in photovoltaic power generation. Solar cables are
designed to be UV resistant and weather resistant. They can be used within a large temperature

Module mounting system
Solar mounting structures are the backbone of any Solar PV plant installation. They provide the
necessary support to the Solar Modules against environmental attacks like rains, cyclones and
dust storms. Mounting can be done on a variety of surfaces like RCC roofs, Galvenium sheets,

  • 7. Net Metering Net metering is a billing mechanism that credits solar energy system owners for the electricity they add to the grid. Because the cell is composed of a single crystal, the electrons that generate a flow of electricity have more room to move.
