This document describes the warm and humid equatorial climate. It is found near the equator between 15° north and south latitude. It has high temperatures year-round, with daily highs between 27-32°C and nightly lows between 21-27°C. Humidity is also very high, between 75-100% relative humidity. This climate sees heavy rainfall of 2000-5000mm annually. Architecture in this climate aims to promote ventilation and airflow to dissipate heat and humidity. Buildings are elevated on stilts, use overhangs and verandas, and have designs that maximize cross ventilation.
