Web 2.0 allows for greater collaboration and sharing of information online compared to the original World Wide Web. It enables users to interact with each other and generate content through social media and user-generated content on sites like blogs, wikis, and video sharing sites. While the student does not have an in-depth understanding of Web 2.0, they recognize it is important for technological progress and provides opportunities for sharing educational resources like homework and exams through a class wiki to benefit learning.

Technically, Web 2.0 is the term given to describe a second generation of the World Wide Web that is focused on the ability of the people to collaborate and share information online. It’s like an extension of the original ideals of the Web. One improved function of Web 2.0 includes more open sharing of information. A Web 2.0 site gives its users the free choice to interact or collaborate with each other in a social media dialogue as creators (prosumers) of user-generated content in a virtual community, in contrast to websites where users (consumers) are limited to the passive viewing of content that was created for them. Examples of Web 2.0 include social-networking sites, blogs, wikis, video-sharing sites, hosted services and web applications. I haven’t learned more about it. As to what it means to me I really don’t know what to say. It’s great and essential for the technology to keep developing. It gives us multiple opportunities. We did a lot of things on Wiki last year and we keep doing a lot of stuff. Uploading our homeworks, exams, grammar, vocabulary and other information can be very useful for everybody in the class. We can profit from this information and put it into practice once learned. To sum up Web 2.0 which is so user-friendly can be a wonderful educational and learning tool too that we can turn to account.
