A breakdown of codes and
conventions of music artists who
typically produce ballads

Layout: the start of the website contains the artists name,
current album promotion and a 'key' of all the different
sections of the website: shop, archive, directed projects,
and sign-up. It also contains an image of the artist.
The 'shop' section contains a video of the artists' merch
being worn by a friend group. The 'archive' section
features the artists' previous albums and merch for that
specific album. The 'directed projects' section consists of
different music videos the artist has directed. The 'sign-
up' section is an area to subscribe to the artists' mailing
list.
Colour: The colour scheme is very monochrome. Greys,
blacks, and whites to follow the chosen colour scheme of
the artists' current album
Images: There are images on every section of the website.
In the 'archive' section when you hover over the album title
an image from that album appears. They consist of
different colours and styles which I like. The 'shop' section
contains many images/videos of the clothing being worn in
everyday situations.
Engagement: Social media links are embedded throughout
the website, including behind-the-scenes footage for music
video creation and performances. Another section of the
website includes shared fan's instagram posts and
encourages them to share their experience of engagement
with the artist such as watching a live performance

Layout: The start of the homepage contains a picture of the artist,
with the artist's name and the artist's album. The 'Tour' section
contains all the different dates the artist is touring. The 'music'
section contains the artists singles and music with ability to stream.
The 'Merch' section contains all the merchandise the artist is selling,
including shirts, vinyls etc. The 'Videos' section contains music videos
with the artists' songs The 'subscribe' section contains an area for
the consumer to sign up to the mailing list. On the second page of the
website was the 'Gallery' section showcasing pictures of the artist, a
'Charity' section and 'Album Credits' section.
Colours: bright, neon colours such as blues, contrasted by bright
pinks in images of the artist, or black and white images. The main
colour is a light cyan, which features in the album cover of her album.
This colour is repeated throughout the website and appears in most
images/costumes worn by performer.
Images: The 'Gallery' section includes many pictures of the artist,
including photoshoots for certain songs. It is laid out with 6 pictures
in rows of 3. There are many pictures of the artist located
throughout the website, but most are in the 'Gallery' section.
Engagement: 'Charity' section gives fans a place to donate to the
artists' chosen charities, giving an opportunity to support beliefs of
the artist and supporting the charities at the same time. 'Subscribe'
section allows fans to receive news and promotions from the artist

Layout: There is a main header containing pictures of the artist,
underneath there is a merch section for all separate albums,
underneath that is a music section for different album.
Colour: There are different shades of blues and blacks, with each
section being different shades of blue
Images: Images of the artist appear on merchandise and on album
covers of previous albums in the artists discography. On different
pages there is different header images.
Engagement: There is a 'Sustainability' section including information
to help fans attending the tour. For example, where to get food or a
place to stay on the night.

Layout: The website is consisting of images of the artist. It begins
with a header of a main picture of the artist. Underneath there is an
'images' section containing scrolling pictures of the artist. Then there
is a 'Music' section containing the artist's previous albums. There is
moving audio visuals of the artists singles blow this and at the bottom
there is a music video section containing all music videos from all
albums.
Colour: A mixture of blacks, blues, greens mainly from images.
Images: Many images, moving images, images on tour, album covers.
Images create the whole website.
Engagement: Enagement through image visuals, making fans want to
consume more of the media created by the artist

Layout: The website immediately starts with a merch section
featuring the artist's physical copies of their music. The artist's name
is top centre of the website. They are also seen in their album
covers. The merch is the majority of the website. There is a singular
music video section with no title, just the video. There is also a
section of the artist's previous albums.
Colour: Beiges, blues, greys, reds. The colour themes and textures
almost resemble a letter or envelope, especially with the previous
albums being portrayed as stamps.
Images: Most of the images are from the merch with the artist
wearing the merch. Some images change when you hover over them
to show different angles of the merch. This is a typical convention I
have noticed with most artists.
Engagement: Little engagement with fans, mostly just merch.

the website. Underneath that there is a 'shop' section with all the
artist's merchandise. The last section on the first page is The artist
'By Album' portraying current and previous albums. And also featuring
a spotify playlist of all the artist's songs in their lifetime.
Colour: purples, blacks, reds whites, greys, portraying the artists
album colour themes.
Images: Many images of the merch contain the artist. This is
revealed when you hover your mouse over the image. The merch
background also is in theme with the colour scheme of the website.
Engagement: There is a fan favourite and artist favourite merch
section, creating engagement with fans to buy the merch as it is
enjoyed by the artist.
