Max's Grill is a dining staple in Olivia, Minnesota, known as the "Corn Capital of the World". It offers a unique menu including specialty pizzas, sandwiches, and kids meals. - 1. By Paul HunterZaid Often it’s easy for one to stay within their own county seat, but in the time of winter and snow look no further than Renville county just north of Red- wood Falls. I was born in the "Corn Capital of the World," a title which was given to Olivia in 1973 by the Min- nesota Senate. Olivia is well known for its 50-foot corn monument in the shape of an ear of corn. A dining staple in Olivia is Max’s Grill located on the west side of town on Highway 212. Max’s Grill offers a ca- sual, friendly atmosphere with a unique menu and a wide variety of food including specialty pizzas and kids meals. Serving appetizers, soups & sal- ads, entrees, hand tossed pasta, spe- cialty sandwiches, burgers, baskets and beverages. Local favorites include the Walleye Sandwich, Garlic Chicken Quesadillas, and Wild Rice and Ham Soup. Max’s has a full service bar complete with pool tables, touch tunes jukebox, and your favorite sporting event on one of their seven TV’s. Max’s Grill also has banquet, event and meeting facilities for up to 250 people. There are three separate rooms that have the ability to seat 15-250 people. Max's is fully equipped to meet your banquet needs including wireless high speed Internet. Connected to Max's is The Sheep Shedde Inn - a two story hotel with 32 rooms, including 2 whirlpool suites, with large desks and ergonomic chairs.
