 Child welfare encompasses caring &
attending to physical, emotional &
social need of children through
comprehensive child welfare services.
 These are broadly of two types :
 1) Services centering to the basic
need of normal children where the family &
the community participate.
 2) Services fulfill the needs of
physically, mentally or socially
handicapped children. These involve
curative,palliative & rehabilitative services.

 ISHWAR Services was the first
reality of the society.
 Students are assessed category wise
– severe, moderate, mild.
 They are trained to take care of
them selves by their own.
 ISHWAR is converting mentally challenge
children into self-dependant instead of
being a burden of their own family.
 It has to develop discipline among children
& correct the behavior & attitude of the
students.
 Institute teach them the use of bank, post-
office & understand the traffic signal etc.
 School provides speech therapy to improve
the speaking ability of the students who has
speech difficulties & help them to express
there feelings orally.
 The school provides physical education
classes & conduct sports.
 There are periodically parents – teachers
meeting, teachers educate the parents about
their responsibility towards children.
 They provide services from specialized
doctors like child specialist, neurologist,
psychiatrist, ENT specialist, dentist,
cardiologist, occupational therapist &
encourage them to provide necessary health
treatment to the needy child.
Under the scheme, for the welfare of
persons with disabilities are provided to the
non-governmental organizations for projects
like special schools for disabled, vocational
training centres, half way homes, community
based rehabilitation centres, early intervention
centres for disabled and rehabilitation of
leprosy cured persons etc.

to persons with disability and voluntary action for
ensuring effective implementation

 Under this scheme, aids /appliances

Scheme for
incentives to
Employers in the
Private Sector for
providing
Employment to
persons with
Disabilities:
 Under this scheme, launched in April 2008,
the Government of India provides the
employer’s contribution for Employees
Provident Fund (EPF) and Employees
State Insurance (ESI) for three years, for
persons with disabilities employed in the
private sector on or after 1.4.2008,with a
monthly salary upto Rs. 25,000/-
 Starting any activity contributing directly or
indirectly in the income generation.
 Pursuing higher education .
 Pursuing vocational or skill development.
 Purchase and/or fitment of any assistive
device(s)/customization/retrofitting or
conversion of available machine,
equipment, vehicle to disabled friendly
mode
 Any Indian citizen with 40% or
more.
 Age above 18 years. However, in
case of persons with mental
retardation, the eligible age would
be above 14 years.
 The age criteria would not be
required for educational loans.
 Actual expenses on
books and stationery
up to Rs. 400 per
annum
 Actual expenses on
uniforms up to Rs.
200 per annum
 Reader allowance of
Rs. 50 per month in
case of blind children
up to Class 5th
 Transport allowance up to Rs. 50 per
month. If a disabled child resides in the
school hostel within the school premises, no
transportation charges would be admissible.
 Escort allowance for severely disabled
children with lower extremity disability at
the rate of Rs. 75 per month.
 Actual cost of equipment subject to a
maximum of Rs. 2000 per month for a
period of five years.
 5% reserved shops, 10% residental plots and 1%
flats in each housing scheme.
