What have I learnt from using a
camera in my production?
• Before creating my production, I had no experience on using the
camera that I used (which was Charles; he was one of the models in
the magazine). Obviously I had used cameras before (e.g. on my
phone and cameras for taking photos whilst on holiday). But I had
no knowledge on the different types of flashes and the different
settings available on the cameras.
• In my preliminary task, I learnt basic skills like how to use zoom, and
I also learnt how to set up tri-pods to get a perfect shot; this was
better than hand-holding the camera as it meant I could have the
camera standing up whilst I fixed the flashes.
• The fact that the camera I used was digital meant that I could see
the pictures that I had taken and I had the choice whether I wanted
to delete them or not. I decided not to delete any, and to view
them all on the computer screen
• I also learnt how to use different effects on the camera, but I did
not use this skill for any of my final images
• Overall, throughout all of the technologies I
used in the making of my music magazine, I
gained many skills which would be helpful in
the media industry

My images came out in high quality and looked
professional, so I was pleased by this, here are a
few of the images that I took:
