What i have learnt since creating my college

  Both magazine coverswere created using Photoshop. At first I was unsure of how to work Photoshop, as I had not used it beforehand. Creating the college magazine allowed me to practice how to use it efficiently enough to create the cover for my music magazine.
• 5.
  After creating thecollege magazine I noticed there were errors which I would not include in my music magazine. The font and colour of the words I used on the cover did not stand out and therefore would not grab the attention of the reader. This allowed me to find mistakes I made and ensure they were not used in my official magazine.

  The image usedfor the cover magazine of the college magazine was taken with a phone. This created a bad quality image, therefore making the image look stretched when it was uploaded. As well as this text was mostly covering the image and it did not stand out. In my official magazine I took the picture using a professional camera in order to make the image good quality, as well as relating it to the genre of my magazine. This enabled it to become eye catching.

  Both contents pageswere created using InDesign. Alike to Photoshop, I had not used this software beforehand. Making the college magazine allowed me to practice how to layout and create my music contents page.
• 9.
  Mistakes and errorswere made in my college magazine which I made sure would not be redone on my music magazine. For example, I numbered the contents page as page 1 while stating that page one was an about us page. Also the colours looked boring and did not stand out very well, therefore I made the colours more eye catching on my music magazine.
• 10.
  The pictures usedin the college magazine were not very interesting or appealing. Because of this I made sure the images used on my official contents page were more interesting, this was done by using bands of the same genre as my magazine.
• 12.
  Although I didnot create an article in the preliminary task, it helped me create my music article. This is due to the practice of using InDesign which allowed me to explore how to layout the page and how to use the tools to edit pictures, text etc.
